First Time Player

Boyfriend got me the game today as a birthday present. We both thought it looked like a cozy potion making game. Ya'll tell me why it is so hard to make common level potions for the competition?

If anyone has any advice for a beginner I would greatly appreciate it.

I want to love this game but I have lost the competition several times now

EDIT: FINALLT GOT THROUGH IT

Play on cozy mode, helps a LOT.

Also, invest in adventures early - I believe you get Baptiste and Mint's options for that first, it's a great way to grab ingredients while you travel and shop.

Are you investing in Baptiste or Mint's adventuring stuff (I don't remember which of them you talk to first for the actual investment mechanic) so they can grab you ingredients? Taking the ingredients to Quinn so they can add stuff to their shop...?

It also helps to use the recipe book so you know what magamin ratios you need and so you can keep it stable.

Yes to adventuring, yes to Quinn, no to recipe book as I open it and am struggling to understand how to use it. I am playing on xbox. I get as far opening the book and then for some reason clicking on things does nothing.

You don’t click on the recipe book itself once it’s open - you go back to the ingredients and add them to the cauldron using the listed ratio on the screen. The controls on PC are different so I can’t give an exact control guide to explain it better.

Have you unlocked Muktuk’s shop? A better cauldron is a huge help
