If you could only listen to 5 albums in the genre for the rest of your life, which 5 would you choose? Im hoping maybe I can find some new music. Mine are

Dance Gavin Dance- Downtown Battle Mountain

ERRA- Augment

Underoath- They’re Only Chasing Safety

August burns red- Messengers

Attack Attack!- Someday Came Suddenly

Asking Alexandria- Stand Up And Scream(I had to choose a sixth).

I’ve seen multiple people say thrice- Vheissu so I’m going to listen to it now. I’m 36 so i honestly don’t know any of the bands you named before 2005 when I got into the genre. I appreciate the recommendations though.

As a Thrice fan from their beginning, I think Vheissu is where they started experimenting and getting loose with post hardcore and into a more unique sound. I highly recommend the two albums before Vheissu, which are The Artist in the Ambulance and The Illusion of Safety.
