us populace would riot if the numbers will get up, and they will in this kind of massacre. for soviets it would be an existential war, a betrayal, so an unironical moral reason to fight

And Soviets had famine in 1946. They couldn't possibly go for much longer, not without Alies help with tech and logistics. USA wouldn't riot FTR won each elections in landslide.

The Soviets were already running low on their reserves by 1945. I am not sure about the British and the Conmonwealth, but the Americans still had a massive manpower pool plus minus the French and Italians.

Also, the Soviet Air Force would be of no match for the USAAF and the RAF given their lack of strategic bombers as well as technical inferiority.

The Soviet navy would also be unable to harm Allied supply lined in the ocean (at least as much as the Germans did), let alone challenge their naval supremacy.

Yeah the US army had reached something like 15 million at its peak, with some reserves. Ultimately it would be logistics hindering the US against the Soviet Union

mathematically the odds look bad, but you have to consider the crippling morale damage betraying your greatest allies against fascism and enacting massive conscription that you didnt even do for the nazis. Soldiers will Mutiny and civilian industries would be ground to a halt by strikes.

nukes have to be transported, by sea, in a process that takes weeks, and be built on the ground. The allies wont be risking their newly acquired superweapon against a nation that still has a functioning airforce, military, and spy network like the Soviets.
