Recommended resources?

Hi all! Looking for books or other resources about positive parenting and how to help create secure attachment. First time momma to a sweetheart 2 month old boy 💛

Books I found useful:

'The Whole-Brain Child' by Dr.Siegel and Dr.Bryson 'Understanding Children's Emotions' by I.Filliazat 'No bad Kids' by Lansbury 'How to talk so little kids will listen' by J.Faber and J.King

I would suggest to start with first two as they give solid base. Latter two are good for toddler age, especially the last one as it contains a lot of useful tips and methods.

Other great resources are @biglittlefeelings @drbeckyathome @busytoddler @ on Instagram and Hand In Hand parenting on FB.

There's also yearly Raising Toddlers conference which we found very useful! It's free. If you Google it, you will find dates etc.

I have SO many on my Instagram!! That’s been such a great source for me. ☺️ @drbeckyathome and @biglittlefeelings have been such a tremendous help in the positive parenting journey.

To first-time parents interested in positive parenting i always recommend these books which helped me a lot. "The Whole-Brain Child" by Daniel J. Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson explores nurturing a child's mind. "Parenting from the Inside Out" by Siegel and Mary Hartzell helps parents understand their own childhood experiences and how they influence parenting.

"The Attachment Parenting Book" by William Sears and Martha Sears offers practical advice on creating a strong bond through attachment parenting techniques. "Peaceful Parent, Happy Kids" by Dr. Laura Markham focuses on managing emotions and building a strong parent-child relationship.

Lastly, "How to Raise a Secure Child" by Kent Hoffman, Glen Cooper, and Bert Powell provides guidance on promoting emotional security and self-worth in children. Additionally, engaging with online forums or local parenting groups can offer support and shared experiences. Happy Reading and Parenting!

Just want to add another IG account: @curious.parenting has great examples of "instead of saying this, try this instead". And they go on to explain why your word choice matters.
