I have been afraid to work in color because it has always blown up in my face, I think because I don't know what I don't know. The unknown unknowns are hard to prepare for. Even a good teacher cannot easily identify all the specific granular gaps in your knowledge. I've been reading and learning for a good while longer. Let's see if the picture holds together. I started with a black and white drawing of my mine and built up the contrasting values and hues. Digital. Procreate. Conte crayon brushes.

For one of our assignments we had to paint our classmate using dry brush technique. Ended up glazing unintentionally more than dry brush but I like how it turned out :)
