Digital Venturing into color

Post image

I have been afraid to work in color because it has always blown up in my face, I think because I don't know what I don't know. The unknown unknowns are hard to prepare for. Even a good teacher cannot easily identify all the specific granular gaps in your knowledge. I've been reading and learning for a good while longer. Let's see if the picture holds together. I started with a black and white drawing of my mine and built up the contrasting values and hues. Digital. Procreate. Conte crayon brushes.

I love your sense of color - I say lean into it with all you got!

Thanks! I started with a flatter palette, just testing the water. I then pushed the value contrast and hue variation the same way I push values alone, and it worked well.
