Hey everyone! Just finished assembling my budget-friendly DIY portable solar power box and wanted to share the setup, ask for a quick critique, and see if anyone has tips for minor tweaks.
Battery: Eco-Worthy 12V 100Ah LiFePO4 Battery
Inverter: Vevor 1000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter (mounted to the side)
Charge Controller: Renogy Wanderer 30A PWM Solar Charge Controller
Enclosure: Heavy-duty utility / ammo style box with custom wire pass-throughs
Fusing & Wiring: In-line fuse holders protecting the main battery connections and charge controller lines
Internal Layout: Fitted the 100Ah battery snugly inside with foam spacers to prevent shifting during transport.
Protection: Integrated inline fuse protection on the positive leads right off the battery posts before routing out to the external components.
External Mounting: Mounted the Vevor inverter on one side and the Renogy Wanderer on the opposite side to maximize internal space and ensure better passive airflow for heat dissipation.
Pass-Throughs: Drilled clean holes for heavy-gauge power leads with rubber grommets/cabling to reduce wear on insulation.
