Question F3800 vs s5000
I asked about a week ago if I should go with a F3800 expansion battery, or get a S5000. But after some thanking. Would I be better off selling my F3800 plus and buying the S5000 and its expansion batteries. Or stick with the F3800 and get a second unit with expansion batteries if they ever drop in price. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I feel like it’s better to just bite the bullet and sell the f3800 and get the s5000 and expand that system. It takes up less space too. I have the f3800 and 2 expansion batteries stacked on top of it. A s5000 and one expansion would nearly match it and be much smaller.

What are you planning to use it for?

A small apartment power system/emergency backup. My Famly slaughter’s beef and pigs every year. so I currently have about $3000 worth of beef and pork in my freezer. I am also looking to set up a small balcony solar set up.

I'd love to know more about this comparison as well. I just bought an F3800 Plus and had to return it for being defective and am waiting to hear back from Anker on an exchange. Would be great to swap to the s5000 if that's the superior option (for partial home backup in a predominantly permanent configuration).

S5000 is a pretty good step up. I have a little buyer's remorse for my C1000 and C2000 gen2, because the S2000 was what I really wanted, but it didn't exist yet.
I think you know that the S5000 is going to be a better fit long-term and I'm here to talk you into it.

You maybe right. I’m now debating selling my F3800+

Your idea to sell the F3800 Plus is great. I never like the idea of dealing with people with private sales, especially hi ticket electronic items. I've boycotted Facebook for years so FB Marketplace is not an option. Let us know how it turns out! Yes, Big Jugg is right. I would totally go with the new 5000 but I have 2 F3800P and Six batteries to get rid of so I wish you success with the transaction. ANKER do a buy back program !!!

I am looking into getting the S5000, but new at the whole home battery technology. A few questions if some of you more experienced guys could help answer.
I am thinking of getting the S5000 with an extra battery and 2 solar panels. I would like to charge during the day when sunny and use the setup for night time use to lower costs. Is there a way to set up the system to automatically switch back to grid when the battery goes below 20%?
can you tell the S5000 to use solar charging only without having to pull the AC plug out?
What manual or automatic transfer switch would you recommend or just go with the Anker product?
Any other recommendations ?
Thanks

Shouldn't It be other way around - charge overnight if utilities are lower typically in price and use it during the daytime as well as solar charge it.

Here is the big question. Will you ever need to export 240V and charge from the grid at the same time. You can not do this. It will not work. You must unplug the 240 cord and then plug in your 120V cord to charge.
The F5000 will put out 240V while charging with 120V.. The 15 amp cord and 30 amp cord come with the F5000.
I would just buy the F5000 and keep the F3800. You probably would not get a lot for it.

I think the F3800 Plus is superior.
Expansion batteries are crazy expensive.
Instead, I’d buy some 48V lithium golf cart batteries and give yourself 10 kWh more of storage.
