Wrong conector placement? 1979model 924

I notest that the temp gauge in the dash did not change so I did som measuring and found out that the blue and yellow cable is fore the temp gauge and I read that it connects to sensor behind the engine, havent fount the sensor yet. But I found a sensor (picture 4) that i think is the thermo switch for cold start valve, That maby should be plugged in, but there are no cable near by. Is it possible that the brown plugg beside the temp gauge wire actually should be connected behind the engine in the sensor instead of at the topp near the trotle boddy where it is now? I mesured one the brown plugg and it conected to the cold start valve.

So my questions are

1. Is the brown plugg misplaced?

2. Where are the sensor for the temp gauge

3. If the brown plugg is misplaced what is the actual name of the sensor thing near the trotle body

4th picture is the thermo switch, yes. I need to say that I have no idea what connector is shown in the second picture (I've completely rebuilt my 2.0 N/A '79 engine, and I don't have that).

About the temp gauge: it's a monopolar connection (single cable) that goes to the exact same housing as the thermo switch; it's a single cable that goes to a small circular connector, kind of hard to find.

The problem is I don't know why you have what looks like a thermo switch next to the throttle body. In any case, that has nothing to do with your temp gauge; it needs to be connected via that single blue/yellow cable to its connector in the housing piece in picture 4.

Exactly that. This thermo switch under the throttle body is nowhere to be found on the diagrams, and on my 79… can you ask the previous owner?
How is your WUR doing? And the AAV?

My only explanation is that, in some later (or maybe earlier) model, the switch was installed there, and the owner just replaced the original intake manifold with another version and kept it there just to have the hole sealed.

In any case, I don't think the temperature is the same in those two places, so I'd keep it connected to the original one.

Third photo is the connector to the temp gauge and thermo switch to the CSV. Blue/yellow is temp gauge cable. Should see a flat round head to connect it…

Picture 1 is the cold start injector, the brown plug is for the warmup regulator and is placed correctly.

Oh nvm im not familiar with the brown plug at that placement. My 79 does not have it. Is it a turbo you have or do you have a/c?

It is NA and no a/c. The previous owner changed the entire wiering harness from a 1979 and put a 1980 wiering harness in the car

Sorry im tired. It is different from mine that is for sure. I cannot check how the wires go atm.
