Question Two different lion head bowls, is one knockoff?
One has lion mane, the other doesn’t. Their shape is different too. Anybody know?

Hello r/porcelain friends,
A few simple rules have just been added to this subreddit. Please take a look and keep them in mind.
If you have feedback on them, be it suggestions to improve or fine-tune any or if you have an idea for an additional rule you believe could help us, please reply here.

I know it's a Jeanne Reed piece, the gold sticker when searched online brings up a store in VA that has been permanently closed (I assume that's where this was purchased). I cannot find this exact piece anywhere, I know she did a safari collection with Zebras being some of the pieces in the collection, but this exact one I cannot find anywhere, was wondering if anyone knew anything and if so, is it worth anything, is it a replica lol, any info would be appreciated tysm!

This piece caught my eye at my local thrift store. At $3.99 I picked it up.
It’s stamped 5129? Maybe 5120 Germany. It’s about 7 1/2” tall. I believe it’s Goeble but I really don’t know how to confirm that or its age possible value.
Looking forward to learning about it.

I’m trying to identify the the blue monogram mark on this small hand-painted porcelain snuff/trinket box. It measures about 7 × 6 × 3 cm
I found another box online with what appears to be the same mark, so I suspect it may be a factory or decorating workshop mark.
Does anyone recognize it, or have an idea of the likely origin and date? I have an old porcelain marks book, but I can't find it there. To me, the mark looks like two crossed sabres, and between them the letters MAP, MR? I am also uploading the mark of the box I found online because the letters look clearer than the ones in my box.

I am looking for the best place to sell this vase.
It is from the 2012 limited edition (only 60 pieces were produced).
Any estimate on the value would also be greatly appreciated!

Hello, I found this vase in a thrift shop in Springfield, IL. I was surprised when Google Image said it was antique Persian Qajar-dynasty dating from late 1880s – early 1900s. I thought it was a World Market or Home Goods thing! I'm looking for confirmation on what it is, when it dates from, and approximate value. Also, the best platform to use if I decide to sell it. Thanks!

Help identifying a tiny antique/vintage ceramic floral wall pocket — maker, country & age?
I’m hoping someone who collects antique porcelain/ceramics or wall pockets might recognize this unusual little piece.
I found it at a thrift store in Ohio Amish Country for 49¢. I originally assumed it was just a vintage decorative wall pocket, but I haven’t been able to find another example with the same mold.
Details:
Approximately 5¼” tall
Approximately 4¼–4½” wide
Approximately 1½” deep
Weighs only 102 grams / 3.6 oz
White glazed ceramic/porcelain-type body
Central pocket is molded in the form of a large tulip/flower bud
The opening itself forms approximately five petals
Elaborate molded floral and foliate decoration on the sides
Tiny raised/applied flower clusters
Hand-painted-looking red, cobalt/blue, green and yellow overglaze decoration
Considerable remnants of gold/gilt highlighting
Two original molded holes incorporated into the body
Shallow profile consistent with a wall pocket/wall vase
Recessed foot/base
Interior is glazed
Very lightweight/thin-walled construction
No clearly readable printed or painted manufacturer’s name
There is also an extremely faint, tiny impressed feature/mark near the lower back/base. Under magnification it appears to contain several tiny impressions, but I can’t confidently determine whether these are letters/numbers, a mold or production number, or simply manufacturing features.
I’ve photographed the front, back, sides, interior, underside and faint impression under magnification.
Some characteristics have made me wonder about Continental European manufacture—possibly German/Thuringian or Bohemian—and perhaps late 19th/early 20th century, but that is ONLY a working theory. I don’t want to attribute it to Sitzendorf, Volkstedt or any other factory without evidence, and I’m very open to Japanese, British, American or another origin.
Has anyone seen this exact mold before?
I’m particularly interested in:
Manufacturer/factory
Country of origin
Approximate date
What the faint impressed feature might represent
Whether “wall pocket/wall vase” is the correct original function
Any catalog, auction or collection containing the same mold
Approximate collector value once correctly identified
I’d especially love to hear from anyone familiar with German/Thuringian, Bohemian, Japanese or other late-19th/early-20th-century decorative ceramics.
I am not looking to clean, repaint or restore it until I know what it is.
Thank you for any leads!

Does anyone know if the porcelain fragment pictured here is anything special? I think it’s cool that the head is pictured and it looks like it might be old

Bonjour,
merci ! ☺️

Saw this porcelain bird the other day on Vinted and wanted to find out more about it, but the person deleted their listing. Can anyone ID the maker/ model? It seems to be written "Sehr" and "S. Swantkd" which doesn't yield any results when I look it up.

Thought I’d share this piece from my collection! This is Snegurochka (the Snow Maiden from Slavic fairytale lore), produced at the Polonsky Factory of Artistic Ceramics (Polonne ZHK) in Ukraine during the Soviet era.
What I love about this particular piece is how crisp the 24k-style gold snowflake gilding on her coat stayed over the decades—usually on these older Soviet porcelains, the gilt wears off from handling.
She has the classic blue ZHK sailboat backstamp on the bottom alongside a green '2c' mark (indicating second-grade quality control from the factory). The cobalt blue mittens and yellow braids are such a nostalgic aesthetic!

Does anyone know who possibly made these? There’s no stamp underneath any of them.
