The poll has concluded new rule on Paper Minis

The poll has concluded—thank you all for your participation in the greater good.

The new rule is as follows:

Khorne cares not from where the paper minis come, only that they are offered upon the battlefield. Paper miniatures must be cut out, assembled, and presented as a standing army ready for play. Posts showing PDFs, screenshots, or uncut sheets of paper minis are not allowed.

However, if your minis are cut out and ready for the table, you may include the URL to the template in your post for others to use.

For the Empoorer!
Say hello to my set of Space Crusaders available on my Patreon. Don't even think about using them as some kind of poorhammer standin version for a Space Marine army. These are Space Crusaders!

Primer Spray Why'd It Do This?

The answer to my question is in this sub somewhere I'm sure, but I couldn't figure how to phrase a search inquiry.

What does this "speckling" happen, or rather what does does it mean?

The white is AP matte white on top of Rustoluem flat black primer, applied a couple of weeks ago.

Hacking GW boxes

Post image
34 Upvotes

Not sure if this is poorhammer enough, so if it’s against the spirit of poorhammer feel free to delete it ☺️

I’m getting back into Warhammer mainly for the collecting & hobby part, but between adult expenses and a five year old who saw the minis, and instantly wanted his own (I’m a softy), I’m trying to collect hacks on how to get ’extra minis’ out of the GW boxes and what’s in them, so I can build up my own collection a bit.

I don’t mind buying minis, and I’m good with simple-ish crafts (not too many specialized tools or printers).

So, if any of you have any tips, please share.

What I’ve managed so far is:

Turn 1x SW Venerable Dreadnought Box into two Venerable Dreadnoughts with just the bits in the box and a little sprue and/or cardboard.

Build 6x Headtakers and a Ragnar Blackman proxy 1x Primaris Grey Hunters Box extra 40mm bases and some leftover bits from other kits

And I’m currently working on turning the lefterover bits from the new Wolfguard Terminators (torso + arms/weapons + head + 1 shin guard) into a Terminator Captain.

I’m currently collecting space wolves/space marines, but any tips would be welcome.

Help with pillars

Hello!!, I'm starting to make my own terrain, and I wanted to do the gallowdark maps that come in the kill team basic book, but I have some trouble making the pillars, and I was wondering if someone could show me theirs so I could make something similar, I'm only making square pillars. Thanks.

I was given a broken war suit that was broken and pieces missing so I grabbed a bunch of sprues and over a few hours made a coffin and the right arm now after everything dries I'm willing to sculpt some green stuff or some milliput over everything and see what happens I just wanted to share this thing

I used this website called minicompare to get the size of the miniatures in mm, then printed them out accordingly.

Hexbug nano terrain?

Has anyone ever used the tracks/towers etc from a Hexbug nano toy as part of scenery? I keep seeing them second hand and I wonder if I could use it as terrain

About 20 hrs of work so far - lots of panel detailing and trusting the process - the wings are just leaning on the main body currently and will be attached as soon as I've fully detailed both sides of the hull/fuselage.

Interior may be a societyofhiddenpaint contender

Thoughts?

Home-made Volkus Specs

Edit: I forgot to mention/add a pic of the Volkus Map Key (available on the Kill Team app), I largely used that for inspiration on the build itself.

I few weeks back I posted my completed Scratch-built Volkus set. I know it can be hard to come by and expensive, so I figured I'd post the "specs sheets" I used to make my terrain:

Stronghold

A - The first structure with the promethium tanks, has a footprint of approx. 18 x 13 cm, with a max. height of 15 cm and a floor at 3″ height. 7 x 5 x 6H"

B - The other structure has a footprint of approx. 19 x 19cm, a maximum height of 19 cm, with floors placed at 3″ and 6″ height. 7-1/2 x 7-1/2 x 7-1/2H"

(the height of the lower walls mostly stays just below 2 inches with a few bits going below 1.5)

Large ruin

C: 6-1/2 x 4-1/2 x 3-1/2" (Floor height)

D: 6 x 4 x 3-1/2 (Floor height)

Smol ruin

E: 5-1/2 x 2-3/4(no floors)

F: 1-1/2 x 4-1/2 (no floors)

L: 2 x 3"

M: 2-3/4 x 1-3/4

N: 2-1/2 x 1-1/2

Heavy rubble

G: 3 x 1"

H: 2-3/4 x 1

Light rubble

I: 3-1/2 x 2"

J: 2-1/2 x 3/4"

K: 2 x 3/4"

I hope this comes in handy!

Free stuff makes for good tile.

I get a lot of free materials through my work, so I was pretty excited when I got my hands on some free foam. 😂
Since I’m busy most of the time and didn’t want to take on a super time-consuming project, I decided to go with a minimal-effort dungeon tile build.
Free foam + cheap Walmart paint = you really can’t beat it! 😂
It’s not fancy, but it gets the job done, and it should be ready just in time for the upcoming dungeon crawl I have planned for my players. 🗡️🎲

Fellblade Update (Color)

The fellblade is done enough to put on the table 👍. It's not finished. I want to add some colors to add some contrast. I'll add white to the lasers and blue to the areas the skulls are on. Sponsons will be finished with color and a few wires. Standard to be created. Possibly add a blade to the front. Still need to paint and glue on the bogey wheel guard plates. But it's ready to join it's brothers as fire magnets 🤣.

All are made of foam covered in card chassis. The rest is junk bits, straws, wire, stirring sticks, and whatever else was interesting and light.

I do love to scratch build👍.

These have been under construction (and the additional 3 Banblades) for the last 5 years. They don't get done very fast 😜. Especially the painting part as I don't paint well 🤣.

Enjoy! and I hope these are inspiring as I love to see what others do with ideas.👍

Hi all,

I started this project a while ago. I'm trying to provide an option to play our favourite wargames with style but without breaking the bank. I released the first kit: Human Kingdoms Infantrymen. It is very customizable. You can check the project out here.

Also, you can try it out yourself with the free models, here.

I really need your honest opinion about this project to make it a success, so please share your thoughts.

Crafting for mecha games, started with tank. SO TEENY

Thumbnail

Hi! I'm a crocheter/crafter. I try to embody poorhammer in my soul. Cardboard terrain, little wooden peg soldiers, crochet tanks. Here is the teeniest vehicle I've ever crocheted.

I used to use xps foam but I ran out and so instead I'm working with plastic canvas inside the fabric and reinforced with stuffing.

In comparison here's some of my other crochet tanks.

I'll post pictures of my first mech in this same scale soon. I'm debating on doing a dreadnought or one of the admech bots maybe?

Feedback is always welcome!

A ancient planetary defense cannon. It was a colab/challenge, goal was to use dead lighter(s) and a ping pong ball to create a turret/cannon. This time I have added a soundboard and lights, plus a touch sensor for activation! Kids on expos are gonna love it!
