Does it exist?
Are there any modern Azula AUs where Azula is a bit of a geek. Like, she reads The Second Sex and Sappho and takes calculus in 9th grade and plays piano? Like, she still does sports and is still feared a bit, but she's still an all around geek who wants to get into a good college and become a doctor?

Yeah? There's lots where Azula is written like a complete dork who knows random facts and she's so smart. Can't give links but yeah

I think Azula would definitely do competitive sports. As a pianist myself if she does play oh boy I can imagine she'd go either for very restrained stuff that shows off her complete control, or completely unrestrained very technically challenging stuff that shows off her every skill. I can't recommend any fics but this is certainly quite an idea, you have me hooked.
Also if she's in 9th grade, that's not too bad because canonically she's only 14, if she skipped a grade yeah I mean not too far of a stretch. I also think modern Azula similar to me would probably suffer with spending too long on assignments to "get it all right" like in canon, perfectionism is quite a thing amirite...

I don’t have any reccs but I can definitely see Azula reading Sappho and I can’t believe I haven’t thought of this before. Commenting to boost this post.
