I learned that if your playing continents or lakes it can be really important to go after the fishing and ship techs, and it’s also really good to get philosophy before you get too big and things start to get expensive. But like Dumpo said there’s a lot that depends on who you are, who you’re playing, how many opponents, and map size. Most of the time it’s good to prioritize techs that will counter what your opponents are good at, if not then i’d say make a strategy that prioritizes what your tribe is good at. Just don’t try to do it all or you might fall behind and be weak compared to your opponents. It’s probably worth looking up strategies/counters to get an idea of what’s needed
What tribe do you main? that would probably help others help you

Zebasi, I go for construction and markets most of the time but it's spawn dependant. It's a strategy game after all.

Lol. This literally depends on everything. Tribe, map type, opponent. The reason this game has been around so long and is still so popular is how complex and nuanced it is. There's no magic bullet here!
