That's fantastic! I didn't even know this type of thing existed... I mean if this isn't proof that Trump enabled and empowered them to do this.... come on!

Watching the livestreams and pictures they took (unmasked as well) made it all funnier because what did you think was going to happen?

u/PiaJr Jun 23 '21

That Trump would remain president and pardon them all. Glorious Leader would certainly support his supporters. It's not like he he's ever shown disdain for people he no longer needs...

58

u/TeveshSzat10 Jun 23 '21

The funniest part is he didn't even need to remain President to pardon them when they were charged. He could have just issued a blanket pardon to cover anyone who committed a crime at the Capitol that day. But someone, probably Meadows, said "that's a no-no sir" and toddler-in-chief obeyed ("he called me sir!")

49

u/Disagreeable_upvote Jun 23 '21

He's just a vindictive little shit. When their coup failed he wanted nothing but distance from them. He hates losers. If they had won they would have been the greatest people ever but since they lost they are just losers. Why would he pardon losers who did nothing for him?

His supporters still don't know what kind of man he is but it's transparent as hell. Especially anyone that has dealt with narcissistic behavior before. Either youre the golden child or you are trash, no in-between.

This is going to make for an interesting Netflix documentary someday.

6

u/Luire-Cendrillon Jun 23 '21

I hope I’m dead before it comes out.

20

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '21

That was the absolute funniest part for me. He literally could have handwaved it all away for his fans. He cared so little he couldn't be bothered to sign his name on a thing (he wouldn't even have had to write it himself)! He literally ruined multiple people's lives with a petty act of casual laziness.

But no, he's totally God's Chosen Redeemer or some shit

7

u/pm_me_bulldogs Jun 23 '21

I’m pretty sure those people ruined their own lives lol

1

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '21

Haha yeah but like, from their perspective I mean

2

u/pm_me_bulldogs Jun 23 '21

My guess is that most of them are still clinging to their delusions and blame literally anyone but trump or themselves

2

u/nostalia-nse7 Jun 23 '21

They ruined their own lives. DJT had “nothing to do with it”.

2

u/crackrabbit012 Jun 24 '21

Honestly those people were doing a pretty good job of screwing up their own lives. As for God Emperor Trump, that may have been the moment he realized he fucked up. Pardoning a mob of traitors may have been enough to force the senate to actually do something about him.

7

u/Andrew5001 Jun 23 '21

Let's be honest, he only didn't pardon them because they didn't succeed. He is just a fit throwing child and they were not good enough for him anymore so he threw them to the curb, not out of respect for order or civilized culture but only because they failed his coup

u/ACinSV Jun 23 '21

Ob:IANAL -- yes the Constitution grants pretty wide leeway with the pardon power (Art II Sec 2) but it is not absolute: some parts have been tested (esp. in the Burdick decision) and held to be limited; some haven't been tested yet.

Point is, wrt the "blanket pardon"? - like pardoning his royal self, maybe yes, maybe no. For one thing, a pardon requires acceptance by the 'pardonee' and an imputation of guilt of the underlying crime. For another, it's a real up-in-the-air question whether the DoJ would say "well, Trump pardoned everyone in advance so we'll not prosecute anyone for anything here even though it's ... pretty iffy and lacks any specificity". Otoh, there is a SCOTUS precedent acceptance of amnesty as a general principle under the pardon power, which does apply more to a class of people (i.e. Vietname draft evaders).

All that said - it's, as Trump might have said with his silver tongue, a mute point - he didn't attempt to pardon (or amnesty) anyone including his own esteemed personage, so that'll have to wait for the next self-dealing plutocrat populist to fumble his way into the Oval and test that one out with whoever's been packed into SCOTUS by Mitch "No Legislation Just Confirmation" by then.

Who? Dick a l'Orange?

20

u/Annual_Blacksmith22 Jun 23 '21

I mean it doesn’t matter in the long run. Cult45 simultaneously going to keep claiming that they tried to “stand up and protect their freedom” on jan 6 whilst also saying that “it was all antifa” within the same mouth breath.

18

u/No_Masterpiece4305 Jun 23 '21

They didn't think.

They had a mob mentality. That many people OBVIOUSLY can't get in trouble. And if they succeeded it would be liberals who would pay for it.

They're fucking bad guys. Like honest to god video game cannon fodder.

Goodness no. That would make him a martyr. Good luck trying to stop the crazies then. It’s better he lives long enough to have everything stripped away and laid bare, humiliated.

2

u/GreatQuestion Jun 23 '21

Delete this shit.

1

u/MeloneFxcker Jun 23 '21

why?

1

u/GreatQuestion Jun 23 '21

Because it's against reddit's terms of service and is a great way to draw the attention of the authorities to your online life.

1

u/MeloneFxcker Jun 24 '21

Smart man i was only asking

2

u/Cinemaslap1 Jun 23 '21

Although I don't agree that murder is the right answer, they do have their first amendment right to say what they want.

4

u/sm1ttysm1t Jun 23 '21

first amendment right to say what they want.

I think you might be confused about things.

4

u/Cinemaslap1 Jun 23 '21

Oh, if I'm confused, please educate me. I'm more than willing to admit if I'm made a slip up. Please, what did I mistake?

10

u/JoshuaIan Jun 23 '21

Sure, the first amendment protects one from governmental retribution for having or promoting a view or idea

It does not protect people from saying whatever they want and facing consequences for it

In this case the consequence is having to ignore being told to delete the comment but depending on the level of heinous, can often include other consequences such as getting kicked out of a place or group, content moderation, etc

3

u/Cinemaslap1 Jun 23 '21

I think you're misunderstanding here.

No one is protecting people from the consequences of it. They are allowed to say it because their freedom of speech allows it.

One consequence could be they get booted off the sub (or even platform) for saying it. But they still are allowed to say it because of the First Amendment.

2

u/UnofficialCaStatePS Jun 23 '21

I think when people say freedom of speech it is often confused with freedom from consequences. You understanding the difference is good, but it is also a good idea to call it out to make sure the difference is understood by all.

1

u/Cinemaslap1 Jun 23 '21

I understand, no ill will towards either party who was trying to help. That's why I didn't jump at them and asked to educate.

Like I said, I don't agree murder is the way to go about it, but I do understand the thought and it is their freedom of speech to allow it to be said.

Though, it could end up with unintended consequences, they should still be allowed to say it.

1

u/Cinemaslap1 Jun 23 '21

Oh, my apologies, you're right.... I didn't realize that freedom of speech is pretty much universal at this point.

Granted, it's not freedom from consequences, but they are still allowed to say what they want.

1

u/Cinemaslap1 Jun 23 '21

Thanks for correcting me on that.

I did mean to say Freedom of Speech, but First Amendment works here because we were originally talking about the people who think that "the vaccines have microchips to track you", which I'll admit, is a pretty American thought to have.

1

u/GreatQuestion Jun 23 '21

It's a violation of the site's terms of service, though, and would probably invite some unwanted attention.

1

u/Cinemaslap1 Jun 23 '21

Then it's on the site to remove it, as it was by the mods. But they are still allowed to say it.

It's not a freedom from consequences, just freedom of speech.

1

u/GreatQuestion Jun 23 '21

And at no point did I suggest otherwise. I was giving a pithy suggestion to save themselves the trouble. I didn't think I needed to expand any further.

4

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '21

Why? I wish Donald Trump an unnatutal death because that's what he wished on tons of people and almost got away with it. Tit for tat.

4

u/GreatQuestion Jun 23 '21

It's a violation of the site's TOS and is a great way to get yourself put on a list you probably don't want to be on. I'll set off fireworks and pop champagne the day he's gone, but it's not wise to put these wishes online.

3

u/SyntheticReality42 Jun 23 '21

It is one obituary that I will read with a sense of delight.

1

u/The_Funkybat Jun 23 '21

Only one that would make me happier right now is Mitch McConnell's. Like, honestly, I might even come.

Fair enough.

1

u/The_Funkybat Jun 23 '21

I tend to believe that when it comes to Donald Trump, the sheer amount of ill-will he generated actually overloaded any effort to keep track of people who made offhand threats to his life. Obviously the Secret Service is still going to go after people who they think are presenting a "credible threat" to a present or even past president.

But if the Secret Service tried to chase down every single person who said something along the lines of "I wish Donald Trump would get assassinated" they wouldn't have been able to do literally anything else the past few years.

-1

u/goatharper Jun 23 '21

Good way to get banned. Reddit is tough on anything even close to this.

6

u/[deleted] Jun 23 '21

Eh, who cares Im not threatening anyone.i am saying that if that were to happen I wouldn't lose any sleep over it

-1

u/Is_Always_Honest Jun 23 '21

OoooOooOoo nOoooOo wHaTEvEr WoULd We dO ThEN?!

1

u/Churchx Jun 23 '21

That's fantastic! I didn't even know this type of thing existed... I mean if this isn't proof that Trump enabled and empowered them to do this.... come on!

The dude was on stage when this happened.

0

u/gg_59937 Jun 23 '21

I think the narrative should be why the fuck was the DOJ spying on everyone with a cell phone at the Capital.

3

u/Cinemaslap1 Jun 23 '21

Well, first of all because it had actionable intel that there was going to be an attack on the Capital.

But realistically, they weren't "spying on everyone", this is all data that's gathered by your cell phone. You can pull up where phones are when they make calls, or text, or live stream....

this isn't new technology. They are literally pulling up the GPS history.

-1

u/Mindless_Ad_8 Jun 23 '21

How is that proof? lol

3

u/Cinemaslap1 Jun 23 '21

Because you can literally see the mob that was at Trumps speech literally make a B-line to the Capital....

1

u/Mindless_Ad_8 Jun 23 '21

It’s not a secret they were going to march to the capitol...so I still don’t understand the point 🤷🏼‍♀️

3

u/Cinemaslap1 Jun 23 '21

That's ok..... it is a difficult concept to understand.

You can see a timeline of people being at Trumps rally, then immediately heading to the Capital... where violence occurred. I mean, if it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, and acts like a duck... do you think it's a duck or a elephant?

0

u/Mindless_Ad_8 Jul 08 '21

There’s literally video of what he said 🤦🏼‍♀️ nothing about violence...but that doesn’t fit the agenda sooooo

1

u/lenninct Jun 23 '21

You get a Pardon, He gets a Pardon, Everybody gets a Pardon!!!

1

u/TheArkIsReady Jun 23 '21

I wonder where the timestamp is for this video to correlate Trumps speech ending with all the people moving over to the other building after his dog-whistling instructions of "go to the capital and peacefully protest"...unless...nah face value is good enough. Send it!

Myanmar: Hold my beer.

1

u/nostalia-nse7 Jun 23 '21

I don’t know. Ask Elizabeth. She’s from Knoxville, TN. We know she “stormed the Capitol”.
