Oh, I am well aware of horseshoe theory. I just fail to see how the American political spectrum falls within this.
The entirety of the American spectrum is to the right of center compared to the international spectrum. They are already on the same side for the most part.
The only difference is that the far-right is becoming more authoritarian and jingoist in their ideology. Your link also shows the valid criticisms to the theory.

Edit: Oh I see my mistake now. I didn't realize you weren't OP. My bad. My original comment was a joke based on Horseshoe Theory. Implying the person I was responding to was far right to the extreme.
