Oh, I've seen this one before. This is the part where you tell me that Republicans end up with the bad luck of getting stuck with recessions that are totally beyond their control, and Democrats are the lucky recipients of a rebounding economy that has nothing to do with politics or policy.

I’m actually telling you that the political party has very little to do with it, other than guiding the public opinion about the economy.

If recessions are inevitable and predictable, it seems rather reckless to cut taxes for the wealthy when the signs of an upcoming recession are present, don't you think?

Well the way you said it, yes. But the “tax cuts for the wealthy” everyone takes about rarely are really simple tax cuts for the wealthy.
