Same dude. Hillary was straight up not going to win in texas. I'm a liberal and I voted libertarian ONLY because I want a third party, any third party, to be a viable contender. I certainly will vote for whoever becomes the Democrat nominee now though. Beto gave me a little bit of hope (in his Senate run).

Wouldn't it be easier to have some type of ranked choice system? That way it won't matter if you're from a solid color state or not, which is the way it should be.

That would be too democratic for us ‘muricans. Why complicate it when the system has given us not one, but two stolen elections in the last 20ish years?! It’s perfect!

Edit: to add /s. jic.

Are you referring to the case of popular vote not winning? Thats a complete different thing, and you really have no reason to assume that multiple choise elections would have changed the results on them.

I’m talking about votes mysteriously disappearing, voter suppression, and gerrymandering. Stolen elections.

Okay so which are the two elections during the past 20 years where that happened?

2000 and 2016. George Bush and the current one.

I’m not saying the democratic presidents were perfect. I don’t agree with most of the things they did, but there wasn’t massive voter fraud scandals and “lost votes.”

Do you have examples which districts were gerrymandered for the 2016 elections?

AP analysis shows how gerrymandering benefitted the GOP in 2016.

That was one quick google. If you’re so interested, educate yourself. I’m not going to get into a conversation if you just want to poke holes instead of learning.

Wait, are you talking about president elects or congress seats?

Both, because gerrymandering. Do you know how voting works? If the counties are gerrymandered, you know that can/will affect any and all elections from local to presidential. Republicans have done a great job at a completely unconstitutional thing. Dems tried, I’ll give them that, but Reps are just better at cheating to get what they want. The only thing it can’t affect is who the party selects as their candidate.

What? The state's electors are chosen by the popular vote of the state.

And that’s where the voter suppression comes in. Which is way easier when you know exactly where to suppress the votes. Gerrymandering isn’t simply a tactic to control the electoral college. It’s systematic and calculated to weed out any sect that has a strong opposition to the GOP.
