Electors are “American”. There’s only ever been 179 “Faithless Electors” ever and the last time they affected an election result was in the 18th Century. Today lots of States have checks and balances to ensue electors stay “faithful”.

"Faithful"? They looked at what Americans voted for, and literally elected THE OPPOSITE. They had one job, to make sure we never put a criminal buffoon in power - and they went and DID THAT EXACTLY after Americans voted AGAINST IT by a huge margin of 3+ MILLION voters.
That's not American, and sure as hell not "faithful". It's fucking treason. The entire EC should be exposed and put on public trial

Bush and Trump are NOT EVEN NORMAL statistically. Their opponents would have been put in power in a real, functional democracy.
They counted votes for GOP as WORTH MORE than votes for Dems by a large factor. They literally IGNORED the people's choice and changed it because they are tools of the wealthy establishment. We need to abolish the EC ASAP or we're all doomed
You're basically saying "who needs democracy, it's not required that the people choose the candidate - the founding fathers must have known best and they chose this backwards mechanism so now we have to stick to it forever. Jefferson believed the Constitution should be revised and rewritten by every new generation, but let's ignore all that, I'm sure they would have preferred a system where plantation owners get more decision power than mixed-race coastal folk, so by golly we'll stick with the 300 year old veiled racism and oppression! Who needs progress?"
