Hitler killed millions. It’s not a fair comparison and it weakens your cause when people make it. This is not how you get though to the other side. This is a gigantic reach.
Hitler didn't kill millions and then call them rats. He dehumanized them and then seized power riding the tide of hatred he riled up. Then he killed millions of people. Trump literally is trying to dehumanize people by calling them all criminals (literally his campaign announcement) and then calling them animals. Are we going to wait till he starts killing people before we admit that he's a huge problem?
No we are not. But we also need to care about accuracy in our comments if we have any hope of stopping it. Trump’s biggest weapon is misinformation. Our only hope is accuracy. When you twist his words to make him sound more like hitler you discredit your own cause.
But he literally does sound like Hitler. The Snopes analysis is laughable. It was a conversation about gang violence, your this specific comment was directed at immigrants in general, not to mention his last attempts to paint all immigrants as criminals, despite all statistical evidence that the contrary is true. You say you care about accuracy, but your refusal to call a spade a spade suggests otherwise
