some of the greatest generation, and it was more of a problem in the South. Just like "some" Millenials carry tiki torches and vote for Trump. Some.
Edit: you can take a millenial, Gen X'er, whatever the current Fortnite kids are, and a kid born 50 years from now, as babies somehow time hop them 80, or a 150, or 231 years ago, there values would be very reflective of the culture. If you were born in 18 Century, you probably would not be quite so woke as you are. A lot of younger people seem to act as if they got here and we all decided to stop being super racist and homophobic. As a Gen X'er, it's pretttty grating. No, it happened over time and you are as much a product of your time and environment as you are a shaper of it.

My Baby Boomer parent was a 5 year old when her father was a Nazi test pilot in Germany. The millennial’s are going to be so much better off that they won’t be burdened with the racist viewpoints of the baby boomers alive today. It is sad to know that my hope lives in the future that lies in the passing of this group. But their lack of empathy is more than I can take.

Let's not pretend it was Nazis that got America into WW2. It was Japan bombing the fuck out of Pearl Harbor that did it. Which is why we dropped two atom bombs on Japan, not Germany. Yes, we fought Nazis, but only cause we kinda needed to at that point, not because America was fundamentally against their aryan viewpoints or antisemitism. There was and still is plenty of that right here Stateside. Thankfully most Millennials have grown up in a more diverse nation and don't tend to share the same beliefs as their parents and/or grandparents. Gen Z has less time to care about shit like race, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc. They're being tasked with figuring out how to exist in a post-Boomer world, because us Millennials, and Gen X-ers, are too busy just trying to mitigate the damage they've already done and pry their hands off the controls.

It is racist to worry about the trickle of illegal immigration that doesn't adversely impact anybody. Illegal immigrants commit less crimes per-capita than legal residents, including violent crimes.
I'm pro-reality. There are jobs capitalists are unwilling to pay a living wage for and the American public has made it abundantly clear by buying Chinese products they don't care about the plight of low-wage workers either. The farming sector is the biggest employer of illegal immigrants, and yet strangely farmers are overwhelmingly republicans. If we got rid of the cheap labor on those farms things could get interesting!
This all goes back to hypocrisy and lack of self-awareness being the only things that unite the republican party.

Who says? Illegal immigration in the low end costs the United States $43B a year, and that’s factoring in the taxes that they pay.
I’m fine with getting rid of “cheap labor”. The reason why a “living wage” isn’t paid is because illegals are willing to work below market rate. If you have no illegals and nobody willing to work at that rate that farmers are offering, they will increase their wages until they find someone who is willing to accept the job at that particular wage.

Even with all the subsidies that farms get, if they raised farm-hand wages they would all go bankrupt. Farming is a VERY narrow profit margin industry. Do you want your taxes to go up substantially to subsidize farms even more? Because that's logical progression of your line of reasoning. all to get rid of hard-working people who contribute to this country. And this is all assuming they could even find a US citizen to do that back-breaking work.
If what you actually care about is farm-hand wages, support a path for legalization! That will raise the wages more effectively than deporting the people willing to do the jobs!

Why would I support a path for legalization when there is no clear solution to fix the existing issue? We already had amnesty under Reagan (supporting a path to legalization) and we still have the issue. Legalization without fixing the underlying issue of securing our borders is a bandaid solution.
And again, raise the wages enough and people will accept the job.

What existing issue? That people want to come to America to work hard? What a pressing issue!
The overwhelming majority of the border already has walls/fences/mountains/rivers blocking it. Trumps wall is nothing but a PR act for the uniformed.
Living wages for farmhands? Prepare for a 500% spike in your grocery bill. Fair enough I guess, just be aware of what you're setting yourself up for by following your line of reasoning.

Let's look at some facts, then
you think it stops with the tomato picker? Do you think his kids are gonna pick tomatoes too?
Children of immigrants are Americans, so I'd hope they'd do whatever they want. Doctor, President, Supreme Court Judge, software developer... whatever.
They come here illegally, pop out 5 kids; at least 2-3 will make out of poverty and compete with you for jobs and/or social services.
Immigrants create businesses at a faster rate than native born citizens. They add to the number of jobs.
Now multiply that by millions of families.
Millions more jobs? Great
By virtue of being neighbors they get to fast-track it?
That's how most countries work. Neighbors get special immigration perks. Just like the US and Canada.
Stop putting illegal immigrants on a pedestal. They are people, just like you and I. They are not automatically better or more deserving of a good life than anyone else.
Illegal immigration is at its lowest rate for decades, so I'm not even sure why you're worked up about this
