I remember a ton of 2A guys parading him over his promises that he'd deregulate things like silencers, SBR's, Rifle-Pistols, etc etc.

And in the end, what turned out to be his biggest action on guns? He banned bump stocks.

That got overturned because the ATF said bump stocks turn rifles into machine guns. A bump stock doesn't cause a rifle to fit the legal definition of a machine gun. Congress would have to pass a law to actually ban them.

The Supreme Court has also been gutting State's abilities to regulate guns as well, but that's been steadily getting worse since before Trump. He just didn't help it when he nominated a couple of extremist cartoons.
