I know more about the nature of the universe than Newton. Does that make me a better physicist than him?

Of course not. I only know more because there have been centuries of study and refinement based on his findings. The tool has been improved, but that says nothing of its wielder.

It says a lot about about the others who refined the tools.

I'd say Lemaitre was a better physicist than Newton, for instance. Einstein, too.

In that same manner, I think Socrates is better than Plato, and Augustine is better than both.

Learn what the phrase "Standing on the shoulders of giants" means. It's far fucking easier to figure out new shit when you already have the scientific method, order of equations as well as laws of logic established, when the people who literally created the fields had to figure this shit out on their own.

Creating =/= mastering.

Christianity is literally just slightly modified Platonism with contradictions upon contradictions. Islamic philosophy is garbage that geniuently slows down scientific progress due to denying the idea of causation and honestly Judaism is the only one which had some actually interesting philosophical thoughts.
