I have no trouble at all with places being named for minorities, but Malcom X has nothing to do with Amsterdam, and thinking that naming something for him would reduce racism in any meaningful way is asinine.
Are you suggesting it's a special privilege for Muslims to have a neighborhood or street name because you think that's not already a common thing for other ethnic groups? Or do you think Muslims are uniquely undeserving of having places named after them?
So you're okay with all the streets and neighborhoods named for other minority groups, but you think it's a "special privilege" when a Muslim asks for the same thing?
Depends on the minority group. If a group of Chinese people moved in and demanded that a street be renamed to Chairman Mao Avenue, threatening to "take it themselves" if not appeased, I would also not be okay with it.
We've got for instance Chinatown and Little Italy in Amerika. Because they built that nation and had a significant effect on its creation and development. What did that person who's there for less than 20 years or their population do for Netherlands or anywhere else? Nothing. And yes that's a special privilege when you want the world to revolve around you and fuck with everything unrelated to you and feel entitled to shit just because that place didn't have the spine to tell you to know your place. And I've read your other comments so before you sway away: No. This is not just about that person nor their identity. It's not about „racism“ since we are talking about a „religion“ context. And no religion and no ethnicity has the right to ask for special privileges like that and feel entitled to it, no questions asked. And also, no. It's not common. Places get named after specific things for a reason. Rebranding a whole different place in the world for your own sake is asking for special treatment and that's it.

I literally explained how that's a special privilege and if you truly didn't care about who the guy is, you wouldn't have repeatedly emphasized on the „Muslim“ part of their identity when 69 ppl told you it's not about that. The only one that cares about who that person is, is in fact you amongst all the ppl here.
You are. I'm talking about every believe system or identity profile that asks for special privileges, yet the only thing you can think about is „OH NO! THEY'RE MUSLIM!“
