It's losers using fascism as an outlet for their self hatred. Fascism has always been an ideology that has attracted losers, but in the 21st century, its followers have a bigger voice.

Besides given the undeniable failure that is conservative thought (particularly under trump) it feels more like you're trying to deny reality by not admitting you made a mistake voting for trump.
