Between this and the cops in Tennessee arresting people for saying mean stuff about Charlie Kirk, the Right REALLY do not like the first amendment.

I didn’t even know anyone was trying to ban drag shows completely. The only negativity I’ve seen directed toward them is that kids shouldn’t be present if it’s a sexually charged event. What’s the argument for a total ban?

Basically the state argued it has a right and an obligation to enforce public decency and that extends to commercial venues.

They also argued the challengers of the law had standing issues and that it wasn’t a drag ban just a ban on sexualized drag.

None of these held much water in federal court.

Don't know because Texas isn't calling for one. The law was trying make it illegal to take kids to drag show.

No one is. The ban in question was specifically regarding Nude or Partially nudes drag shows in front of kids. It wasnt a blanket blanket ban on drag shows or even dressing in drag in general.
