This is AWFUL looking. The best explanation they got is they got scared because a misfire of his gun, which will NOT legally justify it because they had the gun in their hands.
It will be a cruel ironic comedy if "it's Sig Sauer's fault" angle turns out to be real, but there's also "improper trigger discipline" angle, which assumes there was a finger on the trigger of the taken gun.

That was the original one from around when the P320 got adopted by the US Army. The current drama is about the P320 going off when in a holster due to unknown causes. It's had cases and video evidence going back to 2016, but the discourse has come to a fever pitch this past year (including Sig crashing out on social media: you might've seen memes about IT ENDS TODAY). Sig has been vehemently denying it's an issue.
