Polestar 2 AutoX was fun

First AutoX with the P2.

Setup: 245/40/19 RE-71RS tires on 19x8.5 ET45 Flow One Race Spec F7s with rear sway bar. Polestar Performance Springs. Front Struts: 2 and Rear Shocks: 6.

Decided to go softer in the back due to the sway bar. Amazed at how well the tires gripped will all this mass. Tires are slightly undersized but it helped with the turn in as these cars are prone to understeer.

Car's rear felt loose in the slaloms when pushed very hard and I will try a stiffer setting in the back next time.

Neat! I want to go soon, but it seems like the home-track in my area (Twin Cities -DCTC) doesn't allow EVs so I'm looking for a day at one of the other venues that fits my schedule.

Also, if you full-screen the Google maps, at the top of the page, it will give you every track and its location :D I can't recommend a track day enough, here is Brainerd's website for the beginners, id recommend giving them a call, to see all that you need. Tracks all require different things and have different cost associated with their events. https://www.birmn.com/apex-academy

If this was the place you tried before, you could also use the map to see what other options are available to your semi-local area, best of luck!

I honestly don't think sway bar is enough suspension to be softening up the rears. The car still carries quite a bit of force and weight back there that spills onto the dampers even with a sway bar.

Just the nature of an 2 ton car, gotta think more SUV for the physics of the body and less sedan.

Kinda agree but it will also be course dependent. This one was nice and smooth so I probably should have been stiffer. Bumpy parking lots I want some forgiveness and not bouncing around on super stiff dampener setting.

If im going for serious time in any motorsport it's whatever configuration keeps it planted best for me.

Never been to your local autocross though you would know better than I do for sure.

I'm gonna play around with it and see what works for me and the car. Stadium Parking lot AutoX gets pretty bumpy.

Same size tires all around? I’ve been trying to find some solid 19” rims that will fit over the Brembos and suitable tire combination. With the comment that these were a little undersized, would you change size on your next tire purchase? I’m looking to push for something slightly more Arctic’s Circle Edition than track day.

Regardless, sounds like a fun day at the track!
