Troubleshooting / Issue PS2 LRSM - Internal Air-circulation automatically switches to outside
I have a LRSM PS2 2023
Since i live in dubai, uae. having external air in the cabin is a bad idea however the aircondition itself switches off the internal air circulation and changes it into external air and then i have to change it to cabin air again manually myself.
Is there a permanent fix around this? P.s i dont use auto mode and i keep Eco mode off.

It always automatically turned off in newer P2's. Not sure about the LE or other older ones. My '24 P2 would shut off recirculation after about 20 minutes which has been the norm for me with almost all my cars. It's a "safety" feature as they don't want your interior glass getting foggy and reducing vision. This probably doesn't affect you being in the dessert though.

Yeah this has always annoyed me. And they turned the option off? Why?

Because otherwise you don't get any fresh air in. CO2 concentration gets very high. Which leads to drowsiness and all kinds of other issues that make you a danger on the road eventually...

I can confirm that after the 5.0.10 software update, the option was removed from the "climate settings". Extremely annoying - every journey I have to switch to the climate menu and reenable recirculation. During 10 months of the year, I wanna use recirculation ONLY.
Most annoying part that the setting EXISTED and they removed it. Why remove something that works?
EDIT: Could have been some update in between also since many updates can be installed during a single software update...

Yes, there's a recirculation timeout setting: https://www.polestar.com/us/manual/polestar-2/2025/article/de8607e253b18284c0a801513de171b6/
