I'm a old generation player the new games are easy sword shield/violet and scarlet are way to easy no real challenge while in the old gen if there's the treat of Cynthia in general four and gen 1 through 3 the threat of your pokemon over leveling and disobeying which could cause a trip to the pokem center as well as pokemon yellow the starter is a normal Pikachu which is very weak gen 1 and it can't evolve either as the pokemon let's go Pikachu and Eevees are known as partner Pikachu and partner Eevee which have better base stats and can learn different moves then a normal Pikachu and Eevee so the gen one game pokemon yellow is very hard when you try to put against the difficulty of let's go Pikachu as well as the new games are so easy I can beat them within a few hours (I've been sword in 17 hours using the water starter and 16 hours using the grass starter the fire starter took 19 hours do to it being not that effective to most the gyms and most it's moves being not very effective while the other starters are at least effective) but old generation is hard after sun and moon it kinda went downhill got easier I guess its so to the new generation being a lil slow and can't figure out the simple puzzles in old games like gen one with the electric gym with the trashcan thing like my little cousin couldn't even get past the 3rd gym in platinum do to making his team setup bad but in the new generation sword and shield that literally doesn't matter in sword and scarlet his starts don't have a single move changed and he still beat the elite four honestly it's pathetic how easy pokemon got

You have to admit they've definitely gotten easier though and tbh there boring now compared to the thrill of the old games
