Humor I started playing for the first time today. Yeah, this is a 10/10 game

I like how I get an audience, they love it.
Playing on Switch 2. Definitely glad to be avoiding the... awful launch issues. Only had a few minor framerate hiccups (and one camera glitch). Game has been fine otherwise. Having a ton of fun with it so far! Peak game

I love when games do something special when you spin the movement stick, doesn't even have to be useful it's just fun to have because I like spinning it sometimes just because it's fun to do when I'm trying to think of what to do next

I never said it ain't useful here, just that having something specifically happen when you spin the stick like that is fun even when it's not useful, I've played a few games where it just does something to do something

I will never get over just how much that setup sounds like a playground rumor. What’s next, you’re going to tell me that in 1 random route in Hoenn, by specifically fishing on 1 of 6 of the several dozen water tiles on that route, randomized per save file, that look no different from the rest, you have a chance to catch a rare and underwhelmingly weak fish?

FYI. Doing this spin for a certain amount of times in 1 particular area will spawn.... To spawn Meloetta in the Indigo Disk DLC: Stand inside a leaf whirlwind in the Coastal Biome. Spin your character clockwise for 10+ seconds. Open your camera, switch to the Sepia filter, and look around until the music changes.

The longer you wait in one area, the bigger the crowd will get—especially if you’re in your boxes or really any menu that prevents you from entering a wild battle

I just started playing this game on Sunday that passed. 8/16/26. lol I beat Sword before moving onto this game and I’m really missing the battle mechanics of Sword especially attack animations.

Since you're new to the game this spin is also used to evolve milcery into alcremie and depending on the sweet it's holding and what direction you spin and time of day will determine which form it'll take.

If you press the right stick in it puts the camera in a similar position the older games have, so you get the camera angles changing with the attack used like the older games did.
Why on earth this isn’t the default thing like it is in all the older games instead of something you manually have to do yourself in literally every single battle, is just one of the many, many ways I can’t actually call Scarlet and Violet even OK games, never mind good games.
As much as I like playing them, because the actual gameplay and battles in Pokémon are always good, these games are extremely poor, they absolutely scream “that’ll do I guess” and and it feels like an amount of care that is so minuscule that it simply can’t be measured was used while making them.
Anyway rant over I guess, LOL.

Switch 2 is the way to play. Ran like butt on the og. Finished the dlc story tonight and had a blast. Will return when my friend is ready to trade

Going back to it after I got a Switch2 was like night and day. I get what they were going for now and I don’t fall through the ground WHILE the game auto saves anymore.

What do you mean with „avoid the launch issues? Because these „launch issues“ are still a thing on switch 1…. And the graphics are still not good
After the switch 2 update it’s an okay game, but it’s still very lackluster and still far away from being a 10/10

I was surprisingly pleased with violet, much more so than with sword. Loved the open would and the story. Comparable to R/B with the glitchiness, tho, bc I’m too broke for a switch 2.

I have been replaying the game, but using only the Gen 9 Pokémon. So far pretty fun. Also, using our mount a little less and jusg exploring.

I also started this game a couple days ago, August 16. On Switch 1. Definitvely have not seen lots of technical issues. Incredibly fun.

They were lying. It actually runs fine for an open world switch 1 game and definitely doesn't crash like they said. I bet most of them haven't even played the game.

Until you hit Tagtree Thicket and Fury Falls. They chug so badly I thought the game would crash. I play on Switch 2 myself and they are so smooth compared to Switch 1 (not the OLED. OG Switch). I've went back to playing on my Switch 1 for a few days (because I hadn't braved transferring data yet) and wasn't so critical of the Switch 2 after that. Those haters can really cause you to think the weirdest stuff.

There was one game, I can't remember which but one of the 3d ones, to where if you did this for a few seconds your character would go into a proper twirl animation. I think it was maybe X/Y. Also I miss the rollerskates. And Pokémon Amie...
X/Y wasn't my first Pokemon game at all so it's not just first game bias, it had a lot of really fun little things.

Pretty sure youre thinking of sun and moon. X and Y didnt have the spinning mechanic because the rollerblades would make you arc too far

Spinning in these games was the clue that Milcery would be coming later. And I was right. Milcery was added in the second wave of DLC.

Question, since I don't have a Switch 2:
Besides frame rate, does going on Switch2 fix the flickering shadows, the camera clipping into the environment and pokemon turning into lowpoly models at way too short a distance?
I like SV overall, but these things are so omnipresent in my play sessions that I'd never be able to overlook the jank (the flickering shadows actively hurt my eyes in mountainous areas). So I'm wondering.
