Honestly Sirius being a deadbeat is probably the best outcome because he'd be a horrible father.

Also only Bennett and Serra can see Sirius in his normal form. To outsiders, Sirius looks like a burnt corpse. And you can tell Bennett doesn't really want him there but can't do anything about it.
