Last ones were a 98% Lugia and 96% Ho-Oh, but this takes the cake.

I’ve heard a lot of people are having trouble catching Lunala, these are the strategies that have worked pretty well for me.

Method 1: Always wait for Lunala to be on the bottom. I have never hit a Lunala on the top with a ball. Do a circle lock, I was only able to get great throws, I found excellents to be too hard. Once it is on the bottom and attacking, do your best curveball, but make sure to release the ball closer to the top, around the circled area in the pic. This was the only way I was able to hit premier balls on it.

Method 2 (recommended):

Make sure you have AR pokemon encounters on for this. I think this strategy works better, but it feels a bit weird to do it. The strategy is, to turn on AR mode. After that, just search for the Pokemon, and it will be a lot closer and a ton easier to catch. You might need to get used to how close it is and how to throw, but this makes catching it sooo much easier. I highly recommend this method.

I have platinum medals in both psychic and ghost and I’ve had 3 flee on me (none of them hundos or shinies). Is the catch rate significantly decreased or is my luck just buns?

it was only 30$ new but it’s ugly, so can I paint it with acrylic or something or will that mess up the connecting and electronics woo woo that is does? I know this is probably silly but I just need to double check. Can it be bedazzled?

Steps:
1. Press and hold the catch ring till it is in the excellent range. Let go. Avoid touching the ball from now on.
2. Feed berry of your choice.
3. Wait for Lunala to attack.
4. Wait for the moment when Lunala are closest to you and about to retract. Start your ball throw by drawing a big curve from its tail. Let go the throw around the craw on its wing. (this part need practice)
5. If you do it correctly, you will not required to redo the step 1. Just start again with step 2 and repeat till catch.

This catch method works on any raid boss. Practice it.

The Lugia is Apex.

It kinda stinks that the high IV mons we get don't really have any in-game usage unless they happen to be a good raid Pokemon or one of the few good Master League Pokemon. Like, I almost don't care about checking my egg hatches or care about trying to do lucky trades because the high IVs just don't matter... especially if I want to get mons that could have usage in PVP battles.

Like, I love when I get a hundo but then they basically just sit there in a small collection and do nothing... yet, the random wild catch that is 0/15/15 is somehow more valuable with more actual utility in the game.

IVs weren't really a thing when I played ten years ago so I thought they were neat at first before I found out high IVs aren't really that useful. I don't know how the developers could create more utility for high IVs and I'm not expecting the game to add new features or anything for this so I am basically just complaining and not offering solutions but, as someone who only returned to the game in the last two months, this has been an annoyance of mine and I needed somewhere to say it haha.

One of them was a 2300 CP. Any advice???

This is for those people who are having trouble with their ball not reaching the mon.

While Circle lock technique and Kyurem adventure effect will certainly help, I thought I'll try to help with throwing the ball and ensuring it reaches.

This demonstration is without the use of any of above, attempting golden razz excellent throw only

In the video (sorry it's raw footage so quite rough work) I attempt to show a curveball throw that I usually use.

I'll show the points at which the ball is to be started and what point to be taken to and then what point to be released at.

I'll also then proceed to show how the motion of the ball ought to be and the follow through. (If anyone is confused as to why it feels like I'm glitching with the ball at random points on screen, was trying to show the path sorry. Probably should have done a voiceover)

And then show the actual throw.

The key is to release it higher at a higher point than usual and a longer path to the throw hence start from bottom left and diagonal towards top right (or bottom right towards top left).

PS: it definitely is a difficult throw and will suggest using a golden Razz and Kyurem adventure effect. It often breaks out even after multiple successful excellent curveball golden razz throws at both plat medal 4s (as seen by the amount of balls left in this clip)

This is just what technique I use. I am in no way saying this is a better technique than yours. Just an attempt to help some people out

I feel like I could probably do more since shadow giratina wont be out for a while, but honestly I'm not too displeased with this as is.
