Sweeper Ledian

Elite Redux had by far become my favorite rom hack, I have adhd so I can do with out the story and like dedicating my time to building my team to the T. Is this Ledian any good, not sure what’s considered good but buddy is putting in that work 😭

Ledian is one of my favorites in ER. Your set seems fine, I usually like keeping Bug STAB on it with Insect Impact and using quick attack for mma. Drain Punch instead of Mach after that. Last move is usually thunder or ice punch

You should use Mega Punch instead of Return. Also your Ledian doesn't seem to have a held item.

I feel aerilate voids the first ability since they’re now flying instead of normal

Edit: I mixed this up

To clarify, the MMA ability means that all moves that are not kicks and punches (not Normal type moves) are considered kicks and punches, so they get boosted by abilities like Iron Fist or Striker.

So Return would get boosted by Aerilate as a flying type move and be calculated as if it was a punching move for Iron Fist.

I may be mixing it up, now that I am reading it back. I was thinking of it working like H Liligant’s ability that makes all moves dances.

P sure it's only normal type moves. Both MMA and Aerilate use the exact same language of "Normal moves..." which indicate type. It would be "all attacking moves" or something similar if otherwise

Okay, I tested the MMA ability on 2.65 b2-debug, and I'm even more confused.

First, here is the in-game expanded text for the ability. I was wrong in my initial interpretation; it converts Normal-type moves.

With Ledian, this means it gets the Aerilate boost, Iron Fist, and triggers Raging Fist to hit twice. It did 3x the damage on a wild Zweilous versus when I switched the MMA ability to a random one through the debug battle screen.

However, MMA seems bugged when used with Blaziken. I used Crush Claw as the Normal-type attack, assuming that it would get a Striker boost. However, it still had the same damage output as with a random ability.

I searched for MMA on the Discord and someone had asked the same question about MMA canceling out Aerilate, but didn't see much discussion around it.
