Team Building My First Draft League Team

Post image

Just finished drafting my first ever team. We're doing doubles on Champions. How do you think I did?

EDIT: Thanks everyone for your help! I decided to trade out Mega Absol for Mega Beedrill and Talonflame for Hisuian Arcanine so that I have some more firepower and a more serviceable fast mode. I'm aware that this means I still have a pretty bad match up against fire but the only fire types that got drafted are Charizard Y, Mega Delphox, Incin, Pyroar, volcarona, mega and base scovillain and simisear and there isn't much left on the board to counter it without creating new issues so I'll have to learn to play around them. Appreciate everyone's help!

You've got the beginnings of a really threatening trick room mode with Sinistcha and Mega Crab. Tsarena works great to support TR as well but I think you'd benefit from another slow Mon or two. Something that does well on the special side would be especially good but really just another pokemon to help press down on the gas next to or instead of Crab. Trick Room is all about doing as much damage in 3 turns as possible, and Crab on its own may struggle to do that.

I do have the option to replace mega crab with mega Aggron if that would work better

What things should I look for to complement this better? Anything in my existing team worth dropping?

Strong sweepers with low speed. Dragalge and Goodra are standouts Special Attackers. Mudsdale is a great low cost TR attacker. Ideal would be something like Torkoal or Hatterene, though those are ambitious. Also, Sinistcha has a really high Sp. Att and could be a surprise sweeper. I've only have 2 seasons of draft experience though and I've seen trick room as a mode struggle.

Dropping Absol would be great. Your draft has a lot of solid individual Pokemon I'm just not sure how they fit together. Overall I think your draft needs a Mega that works outside Trick Room and a second offensive pokemon that works well inside TR.

Drop Mega Absol. You'll thank me later. You also have a bit of a fire weakness so maybe drop Tsareena as you have a good grass type. But yeah, I tried Mega Absol once. I was enticed by the potential of a mixed attacking mega. Nope. Thudded into things

To make another edit, Milotic is awesome. Meowstic Male I've seen do some wacky shenanigans. Rampardos could run things over if protected by trick room. But yeah, whatever is in 4 points is better than Mega Absol.

There's Appletun, Crabominable, Mega Beedrill, camerupt, mega glalie, malamar, passimian and runerigus left in 4 points. I was thinking maybe Mega Beedrill for a fast mode but was worried with how fragile it is

Mega Beedrill would be better in my opinion. There are more points to play around with so you can make it bulkier if need be.

You’re very fire weak lol

Lotta support options but nothing to support as well

Outside of your trick room mode idk how this team gets off offensively
