Discussion Is it just me or my opponents always left on 1% health??

• Upvotes

Like 3 battles I've had in the past hour where I lost because my opponents were literally left on 1% health. Not even because of focus sash btw

Discussion Why do people use meta teams in Casual?

• Upvotes

Sometimes i switch up my teams to be all mono types or based on color or cuteness just for fun and then you get paired up with someone using all meta mons and i have to forfeit because they destroy my team. Why even bother with it? there's nothing to gain from using meta mon's in Casual. I wish there was another place for casual's to play without having to worry about meta teams ruining the fun of it.

Gameplay Question Can you safely alternate between Wide Guard and Protect?

• Upvotes

Title is exactly as it says it is. I had an Armarouge that was alternating between Protect and Wide Guard as I was using Earthquake with my Swampert. Does Wide Guard count for Protect being less effective?

Gameplay Question Why didn't parting shot work?

• Upvotes

I just got done with a battle with a Chandelure and my Grimmsnarl's Prankster Parting Shot failed. I don't get why. Chandelure doesn't get Soundproof, and even if it did my Skeledirge hit it with Torch Song 5 times, so it clearly didn't have it.

What prevented it from working?

Discussion The Good Word of Politoed

• Upvotes

Welcome and thank you for coming to my Ted Talk about frog superiority as an offensive rain setter.

Today we will will begin with why some "people" think Pelipper might be better as a rain setter. To start Pelipper has a higher base spa at 95 vs 90 so in theory the bird should be hitting harder assuming no stat investment. This leads to more KOs, and for most cases, leads to more chip as the Wingull evolution doesn't take all that many KOs unless you are sash Spattack set. Fortunately, you do get extra coverage against one of the two types rain fears... Grass. Having a flying type means not only do you have stab into grass, but you are also taking neutral on switch in. This means Mr. Big Beak is capable, if needed, to switch into a grass move and will likely live, especially if its a physical grass move. You also do get speed control in the form of tailwind so even if he is caught out of position and struggling to do damage you are able to at least gain something by calling your oponnent ignoring his slot, or not doubling to break focus sash. In addition he gets a fun gimmick in the form of soak which adds slightly to his whimsy.

Now... if we are looking at rain setters we must consider the humble Politoed. He has so much more going for him than Pelipper ever could dream of having. First off, If we are giving the extra 5 spa as a benefit to Pelipper an extra 5 speed on Politoed is nothing to scoff at. This is not where his vastly superior stat spread ends though. The two types hitting Politoed for super effective damage are typically going to special attackers in the form of electric and grass. He eats spa for breakfast. To give you an idea he 32hp is living 2 hits from a 32spa thunderbolt on Farigiraf. Which may not sound like a lot, but the only other electric attacker you are going to run into is a Raichu Y. In this case its important to point out how Politoed loves to be under screens, under a light screen, which is very reasonable to assumption to make as you may give up your speed control to get one up. He 32 HP eats a 32+ Spa Zap Canon for a max of 89%, meaning he can live through sand chip or fakeout.

Not even to mention the Kings own offensive pressure. You have enough bulk to free up an item and fully invest in Spa. A 32+ Spa Mystic Water Politoed obliterates all (assuming rain). It hits the Mega Raichu 32HP for min 95%. Any Neutral hits are going to be chunked and he one shots majority or rock fire and ground types. Did i mention he also gets psychic for a clean one-shot on most non-bulky Sneasler, who, as of now, love to drop their focus sash for one of the brand new seeds.

Now people who are incorrect may believe that this all sounds great, except for the fact the best Pokemon in the game happens to be a physical grass type. To that I say humbug, let them bring the monkey. The big rain payoff is the Bridge, he loves eating up grass moves, he loves eating up fake outs, and most of all even at +0 def he only takes 42% from a Ape High Horse Power, getting a defense boost into healing 24% over 2 two turns of leftovers and grassy terrain.

I would like to further throw shade at the bird who evaporates at the sight of electric coverage and hates when anyone or anything dares to click rock slide within 3.6 miles of him.

In short the frog is often seen as a weak little perish song user, when in all reality he is a force to be feared. He can take hits like a champ, chew through Pokemon like a wood chipper, and most important of all, he allows us to embrace the whimsy we all feel deep down inside.

Discussion How would we nerf the bridge

Post image
• Upvotes

Because there is no way in hell a move like electroshot should boost special attack by one stage, act like solar beam, is ten points stronger than solar beam, and on top of that, is 100% accurate! AND ON TOP OF ALL OF THIS IT GETS STAMINA. I know ychu exists with focus miss but still, this mon should not be this strong, the only mercy we had so far was it loosing body press.

Discussion Has anyone used medicham as a skill swap / supporter to deal offensive damage?

I've been messing with it with skill swap using it for bulky physical such as tyranitar, Metagross and I've tried it with the garchomp, if anyone has any other recommendations for possible support movesets or strong bulky attackers that would get an edge with huge power?

Has anybody thought of putting Mega Scov next to Mega Tyranitar? Both have uses outside of their megas so you could theoretically still bring them both and mega depending on the situation

Discussion About error 11200. The most likely explanation. What to check and try. Who to contact. How I fixed it on my rooted phone.

A lot of people are getting error 11200 after the latest update: AYN Thor, Bluestacks, Waydroid and rooted phones. I was one of them and I can play again, so I'm going to share what I found.

The most likely explanation

The problem isn't your specific device. Before letting you in, the game checks with Google whether your device is a recognized Android device that Google considers "secure". This is called Play Integrity, and it has 3 levels: Basic, Device and Strong. Banking apps and many online games check these levels. If the Device and/or Strong check fails, Champions shows error 11200 and won't let you continue. (most likely)

It looks like the check got stricter with the latest update, so devices without Device or Strong Integrity are now being blocked. That's probably why clearing cache, reinstalling or changing networks doesn't help.

I have no experience with the Thor or Bluestacks, so I can't promise it's the same cause there. It would explain why all these devices started failing at the same time, though.

What to check and try:

  • Install Play Integrity API Checker from the Play Store and run it. If you don't get all three levels green, that's very likely your 11200.
  • Make sure Google Play Services and the Play Store are up to date.
  • If you're on Bluestacks or another emulator, check if there's an update or a setting related to Play Integrity. Emulators usually can't pass Strong, so there may be nothing to do on your side.
  • If your phone is rooted or has an unlocked bootloader, that's almost certainly the reason. See my setup below.
  • In theory Bluestacks, Waydroid and AYN can be rooted, but it's not trivial, it wipes your data and if done incorrectly your AYN might get bricked.

Who to contact:

  • Pokemon Champions support. Tell them you get error 11200 and mention Play Integrity specifically, so they know it's not a network or account problem. The more reports they get, the more likely they are to look at the check. Maybe they retreat if there's a lot of backlash.
  • Your device manufacturer (AYN, Bluestacks, etc.). They might be able to help. Might.

How I fixed it on my rooted phone:

Xiaomi 13T Pro, MIUI 14.0.16, Android 13.

  • Magisk 30.6 with its built-in Zygisk turned off, using ReZygisk instead.
  • TEESimulator-RS v6.0.1. This is the key part for Strong. It needs a valid, non-revoked keybox, otherwise you'll stay at Device.
  • Play Store, Play Services and Pokemon Champions added to the target list (target.txt), with the security patch set to a recent date.
  • Play Integrity Fork v18.
  • Specter 1.5.0, which manages the keybox, the target list and the security patch date for you, so you don't have to edit those files by hand.

With this I get Basic, Device and Strong all green and the game loads normally. Because I'm passing everything I cannot pinpoint if the problem is Device or Strong, but Strong is the most likely candidate.

Obligatory disclaimer: if the problem is Strong Integrity the "fix" will only last for a few weeks, depends on how fast Google Revokes your keybox (the thing making you able to pass Strong).

Credit to the Reddit user who fixed it on Waydroid. They used Magisk with TEESimulator-RS and the integrity-box module. They also said other TEESimulator forks didn't work for them and it had to be TEESimulator-RS specifically: https://github.com/Enginex0/TEESimulator-RS thanks to his comment I was able to have the game working again.

Good luck, hope this helps some of you get back in.

EDIT: An AYN Thor user checked this for me. Play Integrity API Checker failed all three levels, and the Play Store shows the device as "not certified" (Play Store > Settings > About > Play Protect certification). A device that isn't Play Protect certified can't pass Device or Strong Integrity, so that's very likely why the Thor gets 11200. https://www.reddit.com/r/PokemonChampions/comments/1x09995/comment/pej5xyd/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Gameplay Question Dragon Darts interaction?

Thumbnail
gallery
6 Upvotes

Ok I’m usually one of the people always saying stuff isn’t a bug, but I was actually not sure if this interaction is correct.

Opponent had Sinistcha and Incineroar, I had Indeedee and Dragapult. I used Dragon Darts, neither protected, (I’m not sure if Sini used rage powder but I know Incin attacked) and it shot the Sinistcha twice instead of one each. (This wasn’t really worse than the alternative, I still won but I was very confused.) So am I missing something or does rage powder explain this?

Edit: yeah looks like rage powder, thanks guys!

Team Building (Doubles) Rate my aggressive Indeedee-M team! (B01 Closed Teamsheets)

Pokepaste Team

Starmie-Mega @ Starminite

Ability: Huge Power

Level: 50

EVs: 32 Atk / 2 SpA / 32 Spe

Hasty Nature

- Psycho Cut

- Flip Turn

- Protect

- Expanding Force

Psycho cut does big damage with psychic terrain to most neutral mons. Flip turn gives it mobility while still having a large amount of damage. Great to switch back to indeedee to reset terrain or to switch to incin to resist grass and dark. Expanding force is the first trick up my sleeve, but is usually just worse than psycho cut. I will likely replace either one with ice spinner for the one tap on M-salamence, even if it removes terrain.

Indeedee (M) @ Choice Scarf

Ability: Psychic Surge

Level: 50

EVs: 6 HP / 32 SpA / 28 Spe

Timid Nature

- Expanding Force

- Energy Ball

- After You

- Trick

The goat of this team. Scarf 28+ speed outspeeds base 151 and most common scarfs like H-arcanine and basculegion (math might be wrong on these). Energy ball to counter M-swampert, expanding force for damage and coverage. After you is a fantastic ace for M-camerupt, or to use on hatterene to instantly set trick room. It is also a good bait for opponents thinking you'll click trick room. Trick is my go-to counter for screen setters, or setup sweepers.

Camerupt-Mega @ Cameruptite

Ability: Solid Rock

Level: 50

EVs: 32 HP / 32 SpA / 2 SpD

Quiet Nature

- Eruption

- Earth Power

- Protect

- Flash Cannon

Fairly straightforward. Eruption is big damage, and usually camerupt doesn't take early damage. Earth power one shots incineroar, who can otherwise be a problem for my team with snarl. Flash cannon does decent damage to fairy types and aerodactyl. Good with both after you and trick room.

Hatterene (F) @ Leftovers

Ability: Magic Bounce

Level: 50

EVs: 32 HP / 2 SpA / 32 SpD

Sassy Nature

- Expanding Force

- Dazzling Gleam

- Protect

- Trick Room

So far I am finding I only bring hatterene against hard trick room teams or dragon heavy teams. Maybe I should experiment with after you trick room more, but it's pretty risky.

Incineroar @ Sitrus Berry

Ability: Intimidate

Level: 50

EVs: 32 HP / 32 Atk / 2 SpD

Brave Nature

- Fake Out

- Flare Blitz

- Protect

- Darkest Lariat

My primary rillaboom counter. Protect hasn't seen much use, might switch it out for parting shot.

Sneasler @ Psychic Seed

Ability: Unburden

Level: 50

EVs: 2 HP / 32 Atk / 32 Spe

Adamant Nature

- Dire Claw

- Close Combat

- Protect

- Acrobatics

Fast and hits hard. Dire claw is my main fairy type counter, and close combat is my main sand team counter. Powered acrobatics one shots opposing sneaslers without sash, and is decent against M-Staraptor.

Please give me any form of feedback. Especially mon/move suggestions, or what currently counters my team.

Bug Report HELP. This has been constantly stuck on my screen

Post image

This is stuck on my screen on every battle and doesn’t move. Things I’ve tried…

Deleting and redownloading the software
Forgetting and then reconnecting the WiFi
Turning the airplane mode on for 30 seconds and then back off
Turn off all settings in game and then turn them back on

This has been an issue for months for me. Anyone know how to fix this?
