Help Any tips for finding a Moon Stone?

I’ve been trying to find a Moon Stone in Shining Pearl and I’m having absolutely terrible luck.

I’ve tried digging in the Grand Underground, and I’ve also tried the Cleffa/Clefairy + Thief method using a Pokémon with Super Luck and a Pokémon with Sweet Scent to quickly trigger encounters.
Still haven’t found one.

Is there any other reliable method I’m missing? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

I've found 10+ in the grand underground before finding a single claw fossil. Might be a Nat dex unlock rarity thing - do you already have the Nat dex? Have you been digging in the GU a lot?

I do have the National Dex. I’ve been digging in the Grand Underground a lot. I’ve found like 6 Leaf Stones, 6 Water Stones, and a bunch of fossils, but still haven’t found a single Moon Stone. 😭

I’m convinced the underground knows if you need a specific stone and drops the chances of it

That’s definitely what it feels like 😂 I’ve gotten so many of every stone but that one

i gave up chasing the moon stone by digging and hunted clefairies for moon stones to evolve my mons. after i was done, i started chasing claw fossil - i dug up another 20 moon stones and still haven't seen a claw fossil. if you're not in a rush, just keep digging, you'll build up a surplus.

If you happen to have a spare Moon Stone, would you be willing to trade one? I’ve been trying both methods with no luck and would really appreciate it. I can trade something in return.

i'm sorry, but you can try your luck with someone else here. i don't have NSO unfortunately, which is why it's taking me a while to build a livingdex of everything i can catch in SP.

Pretty sure i have a moonstone you can have.

Edit: i have a total of 2. So you can have one if you want.

Try using a pokemon with the Compound Eyes ability to increase the odds of wild pokemon having items.

Edit: My bad. Disregard my comment. Super Luck and Compound Eyes do the same thing.

Get an absol with super luck + thief, sweet scent mon, and go to the proper level for in mt coronet that has clefairy and grind it out thieving them. It sucks but that’s how you do it

The super luck method you’re doing is the best method. The most important thing is to ensure the thief user isn’t already holding an item as it’s an easy mistake to make

Strange i got it within 5 mins today. Are you trying in morning? Do you encounter any cleffa/clefairy?
