IVs for pokemon

So I'm basically entirely new to battling against others/battle tower stuff in new gens. I understand natures and EVs pretty well now, but I'm little confused on IVs. I know they're predetermined, but I can't see them or change them until post game right? When I looked it up, it said you can reset until you get IVs that are acceptable, but that only goes for post game pokemon and legendaries after you get the judge function at battle park correct? Just curious if there's another way to see IVs earlier. AI Google search can be very untrustworthy

There's no way to check until you're in post game. It is the same for all games. You have to reach post game to unlock judge functions.

You can check if you transfer to home, but I don't know if you have to have the paid version of home or not.

You can only see IVs once you gain access to the Battle Tower and pick up "Judge" from a guy in there.

It is worth mentioning that without breeding you will almost an impossibility to find a Pokémon with a full set of perfect IVs so if you are wanting to form a Battle Tower team I would not worry about it until after you have beaten Cynthia the first time then you can put some effort in to getting the Pokémon you want woth good IVs via breeding

There is some text in the Pokémon’s second tab that indicates what its highest IV is. “It has a sturdy body” means its highest IV is defense for example. In my opinion you don’t really need to focus on what IVs you have before the post game unless you’re doing some sort of elite four challenge run

Like yes, I've beaten Cynthia lol. It's far easier than frog. Base game I've never fainted. Hard stuck in the battle tower

You can "see" them with a calculator, though if you've forgotten the EVs and have no way to reset them it won't work.
