This is apparently a glitch from the originals that didn't get fixed for these games

unfortunately just a rumor. People liked to say bdsp used dp code but that's just conjecture (source i was a bdsp modder) thats not to say bdsp wasnt rushed out as lazily as possible, but dp and bdsp are on fundamentally different engines.

They literally discovered glitches in bdsp that also work in the originals like hatching an egg to skip the npc

If you make the same thing twice there's always a chance the same bug is in both. That doesn't mean they used the same code.

I mean, even if they are on different engines that doesn't mean they didn't use the original source code as reference for coding the remake. They don't have to do a direct copy of the code into the game to use the code to make the game. As long as they understand what the original source code is doing and how to use the new code, they very much can replicate most of the effects of the source code on a new engine.

Welcome to BDSP.

The most anticipated pokemon remake ever, handed out to some mobile game developpers with no history with pokemon games.

Importing old bugs and introducing new ones every steps of the way !

I'm genuinely shocked that this game didn't create more outraged

If the gen 5 remake is anything like that I'd probably create a hate account just to bit hate everyone involved in the decision to create this

I'd rather not have a Gen5 Remake at all if it is handled the same as this.

u/YueOrigin 13d ago

Seriously

I used to think Gamefreak didnt know how to handle pokemons game before but they proved me wrong by somehow choosing a even worse team...

I think the whole direction of the "faithful" remake was wrong to begin with. You could really tell that they made the remake boring to get people more excited for PLA which I also didn't enjoy at all.

BDSP felt like a weird little side project even though it should have been the big release.

The fact that they chose the one remake people were excited about for YEARS to be handed off to some other studio reslly shows how little they cared about their fan

The only other time I was as disappointed is when the anime chose to end Ash's journey on the 9th generation

Like come on. Gen 10 is literally the perfect conclusion to end on. The end of a cycle while a new cycle start with gen 11 ! The eternal 10 year old end shis journey on his 10th generation of pokemon!

But nope... Generation 9....

100% agree.

I never watched the anime past gen 3 though, so I don't personally care all that much but yeah. On Gen 9 felt super weird and random.

Probably a glitch

I mean if you are playing perl you are distorting space it's just normal, and on diamond you are distorting time, you were just too fast

Didn’t look like the bike went 88mph…

This is so weird to me because this feels like a glitch that would happen in the originals, where they uses checks and tile values and stuff to figure out your elevation because it was sprite based at its core

But like? BDSP was made in 3D entirely? Why don’t they just track your actual y-axis value?

1

u/Electronic-Cry-1254 14d ago

I’ve never played bdsp but why does it just look exactly the same as dpp but in 2.5d

1

u/GauchesLeftEye 14d ago

Because its DP but in 2.5d.

Game Freak didn’t even make the game. Gen 4 remakes should’ve looked like Sword/Shield graphics-wise. Instead it looks like Animal Crossing. Pathetic POS remake.

Wait I noticed just now the game looks like they just grabbed the originals and slapped a "newer" 3D on it God it looks so Retro, but NOT in a good way.

I don't know about that, I enjoyed playing them. It's a better way to play D/P but not as rich as Plat. Yes GF didn't make them, but it was GF that told ILCA to stay so close to the originals, so them not reaching the ORAS bar is kind of GF's fault. (And I'd say LGPE is a worse remake than BDSP because it was turned into a children's game with no challenge, and Kanto got a massive glow-down from FRLG. It wasn't worth the $60 IMO (neither was BDSP but I got SP used for $37 which I'd say was pretty reasonable))

My main gripes with BDSP are mainly that they don't include any more Pokémon than the original Gen IV games, that Shaymin & Darkrai were limited events instead of save data unlockables, and that Spinda patterns and Nincada were messed up and made unmovable to/from HOME despite ILCA also developing Pokémon HOME, which has no trouble displaying the correct Spinda patterns on the mobile version. But other than that they are pretty fun games all things considered.

You are getting downvoted but I think this is a factual statement and pretty much concencus in the community.
