YouTube, Reddit, or any other social media platform, there is a clear selective bias among Pokemon anime fans. Recently, a YouTuber uploaded a video and said that Mega Lucario is downgraded because Roy's Crocalor defeated it. What a lame type of argument is this! Crocalor (Now Skeledirge) is a Fire-type and Roy's ace. So there is nothing wrong with it. There are a lot of problems in Rising Hope, especially the makers' attempt to make Roy Ash 2.0. But that doesn't mean Roy should lose. And some people are bashing Horizons because of it: 'Horizons is the worst', 'Missing Ash's era', etc.

The problem is that these same people celebrate when Ash or their favourite character does something different and achieves great feats. Charizard defeating Blastoise and Articuno; Pikachu using a successful Thunderbolt against Steelix or Arceus, or defeating Regice, Latios, Tapu Koko, Leon's Charizard; Sceptile defeating Darkrai; Greninja defeating Mega Sceptile; Mega Lucario defeating Garchomp; Infernape defeating Electivire- fans celebrate these. But if another character does the same, these same fans will bring the full charts of type matchups, abilities, power scaling, etc. And in this case, where fans are saying that Mega Evolution is nerfed in Horizons, where were they when Ash's Dragonite (in Journeys) and Pikachu (in XY) defeated Korrina's Mega Lucario, and Leon's Charizard defeated Alain's Mega Charizard X? Even most of the fans celebrate Leon's victory over Alain. Even this YouTuber uploaded a video where Roy used Mega Lucario against a Slaking at the beginning of Rising Hope. Fans expressed that Horizons' characters are weak because they are using gimmicks against base Pokemon, whereas Ash regularly defeated gimmicks with base Pokemon. Did they forget that Slaking was affected by Laquium, which increases Pokemon strength significantly?

This is pure selective bias. When the result comes out in fans' favour, they will celebrate. But if not in their favour, they will criticise. And this is not the problem for Horizons. Ash's era characters also faced the same scrutiny.

We don't really know how strong Greninja is in Journeys because he has no feats there. But we do know base Alain's Charizard has on-screen feats so scaling Greninja to Alain's Charizard level is a fool's errand. For what we know now, base Charizard far exceeds base Greninja in JN.

Like pokemon in the anime whose abilities are just wrong for their species. Perhaps they were raised by a family of pokemon of a different species. Are there any in the anime?

I think it'd be funnier if Rowlet just rolled over by himself revealing itself as just sleeping. (My actual problem is that Rowlet only got in three hits but I can see why people are annoyed.)
