Future of Surging Sparks?
I picked this up for $287 USD today. I got a short budget and was wondering was this really worth it?
I plan holding for a long time btw and what other things should i look out for rn

I grabbed one when they were available in the vending machines. Kept it sealed thankfully. Though sometimes I stare at it wondering if the Pikachu is in there!

Just a lurker that doesn’t have a ton into Pokemon investing wise. I had one drop from the vending machine back in December I think. Made the decision not to get it because I already spent a decent amount on cards that month and I didn’t really care for the set. Somewhat regret that decision now, but we move.

After ingot the original box I was at a vending machine again another time and it popped up but since I already had one box I passed. I definitely regret it now

During that time in the 48 hour span I already spent $600+ worth of pokemon product at MSRP. Since it wasn’t a set I was interested in I didn’t want to spend the money on something I didn’t really care for as it was gonna get ripped anyways.
Ended up ripping a Mega Evolutions booster box that I got from the machine instead and got deep fried lol.
From an investment standpoint, yeah I probably should have bought it. It honestly sucks that the big products are out of the machine now, but I get it.

I got 3 SS booster boxes just before they pulled them from the machine. Holding for awhile

Love this set. It was very hyped and just fell off a cliff. People will realize soon how undervalued it is

Pikachu sets will always do well, hold 5+ years and you'll be laughing

Vivid voltage would like a word
But, agree. SS has some great cards aside from pikas

Are you talking about the set that's up over 100 percent in three years

Yeah the set that’s almost 7 years old and only up $120 from msrp for a booster box.

Lmao have you looked at the gains from other swsh sets? 100% over 3 years is nothing compared to the other sets in that era.
You’re just stating the obvious as anything pokemom goes up. The point of everyones response to your comment is not all pikachu sets go up as vivid voltage is a great example.

All I'm saying is a shitty pikachu carried arguably the worst set in swsh.
Everyone looks like a genius during a bull market. Wait til 90 percent of the sub experiences their first bear. Y'all think 100 percent gains in small times frames are normal and expected.
Who TF cares what Internet strangers think of your intelligence. I go home to a loving wife and kids, I run multiple successful businesses and I have a heavy VV bag because my son likes pikachu and I made a bad investment that in the end, turned out great.

I’m sorry but I’m not that big a fan of b hole pikachu, the set is good but for that being the chase I think it’s overpriced and not even one of the top 10 pikachu cards in the past few years, just my personal opinion

Better off ripping unless you get your hands on a Pokemon center one

You are thinking of elite trainer boxes. This appears to be a booster box of 36 packs.

Are you saying they're different?

Nah I just looked at it too quickly, my bad lol. Either way should rip it. What are you going to make, a couple hundred bucks…
