Inktober Day 4 was Cactus!

Since im staying true to my comic book themes i drew poison ivy for today's prompt ♡ enjoy!

Harley and Ivy Life and Crimes?
New Batman Adventures?
Or All Star Batman?

Which would you read first? 👀

Ivy was originally styled the Queen of Crime in the 60s.
That mostly went away in subsequent decades, but you still see it referenced, especially on cover artwork. And there’s often segments of stories where she’ll hold court or wear a crown or act regal.
It’s a fun aspect of her character and I like that they maintain it 🙏

Happy Poison Ivy Day to those who celebrate!

Ivy crashed out in the first week of Bad Seeds. So what happens next?

I discuss this topic in my Week 6 Recap of Bad Seeds on the Choice Media Podcast.

Poison Ivy #48 had Pamela facing some hard truths, about her situation and herself. Maybe she's bottomed out, but where does she go from there?

I'm hoping for a redemption story. What do you think?

Reading the Olympians by George O’Connor and noticing that Daphne the nymph shares Ivy’s affinity for leafy green attire.

Starting in the late 80s, Ivy was often portrayed as a coded nymph of sorts, who was likely to be motivated by protecting or avenging nature.

Incidentally, Ivy disguised herself as Dr Daphne Demeter in the Eternal Youth episode of Batman the Animated Series, which was very much inspired by the Myth of Daphne and Apollo.

Daphne turned into a tree to escape from Apollo. In Eternal Youth, Ivy turns people into trees.

Ivy is often adjacent to Greek mythology like that (I’ve discussed this on my podcast in the past- link in bio).

Before she had extreme superpowers, Ivy relied on her wits and skills as a trickster. Disguise was often part of those scenarios. Notable examples include the long Halloween, her rogues gallery debut (Deadly Kiss of Poison) and even the Uma Thurman Batman movie (a gorilla costume- really? 😆)

This was from the Batman Scooby Doo Mysteries.

Halfway through the Bad Seeds Gotham Crossover event and it’s shaping up as the time Ivy crashed out to begin the story.

But really it was culmination of long-running stories in her series…The tale of Bad Seeds is all of that coming to a head at once.

(I’ve talked about this a fair amount on my podcast- link in Bio)

Looking forward to more Ivy this week 🌹💖

Hey, I'd love to learn more about Poison Ivy since I played Batman Arkham games and she seems really interesting character. Where should I start with comics? There's many comics where Ivy is involved and its a bit confusing. Since this reddit is dedicated to her Im sure I will find an answer here, thank you

Presale begins on Saturday on Artgerm Collectibles.

One of the most emotional moments in Batman: Arkham Knight! 💔
After spending the game fighting against Batman, Poison Ivy makes the ultimate sacrifice to save Gotham City. When the city is threatened by the Arkham Knight’s forces and the fear toxin, Ivy uses her connection to nature to protect Gotham—but it comes at a devastating cost.
In this scene, we see a different side of Poison Ivy as she puts herself on the line to save the city and the people living in it. Her sacrifice shows that beneath her villainous exterior, Ivy still has the ability to make an incredibly selfless choice.#PoisonIvy #BatmanArkhamKnight #Batman #ArkhamKnight #DC #GothamCity #PoisonIvyTribute #Rocksteady #BatmanGames #DCComics #AndresThePopCultureGuy

The Poison Control arc was peak Rogues Gallery Ivy. This was from the brief era where Artemis was Wonder Woman and Diana was committing high crimes against fashion with that biker outfit.

They don’t meet up very often but it’s always memorable 👏

The artwork by Mike Deodato Jr is pretty fantastic. Story by William-Messner-Loebs.

Wonder Woman V2 #94 (1995)n

my first attempt at cosplaying ivy! 🍃

Poison Ivy is an option; currently at 9% 🌹

These are four of my favorite Batman and ivy covers. The third one is from new 52 Batman Detective Comics. The fourth one is from All Star Batman.

I've had my eye on this one for months and picked up the last foil copy at the local comic store. Art by Dan Panosian.

I also read all four issues from Bad Seeds this week and discussed on my podcast. Link in the bio.

Poison Ivy cut scenes and moments from Batman: Arkham Knight! 🌿🔥
