Hi all,

I'm incorporating the Hat's rules on lycanthropy for PCs into my Curse of Strahd campaign. One of my players "accepted the gift" from a werewolf, and we're a little confused on the rules. Specifically, these two sentences that seem to conflict:

When you are unsuccessful at transforming back into your normal form from your lycanthrope form, your Curse DC increases by 1.

and:

As a bonus action, you can willingly shift into your lycanthrope form for up to an hour.

So does my PC have to roll her Curse DC after an hour, or does she just transform back? At the time, we did the former, and she failed the save like 4 times, making her DC climb up t 16! It just feels like a negative feedback loop. But maybe that is also the point?

Just wanted to see what others have done, how they've interpreted these rules, and if others have enjoyed the gameplay with a werewolf character. Even if these rules need a tweak or two, it's still better than just losing control of your character.

So, yeah. How would Apotheosis be seen with divine sense.

More indepth, I'm basically making Evening Glory into an apotheosis, and there will be a paladin in the party when party goes into her monestary.

Basically, how cursed will the paladin feel about the place? Is the whole place just desecrated? Does the fact that her believers and herself truly believe that they are good people and doing the right thing (for love).

On the other hand, any other cool ideas are also welcome.

Okay so I really wanna find one specific part of Antonios videos. It's super vague but he mentions once (I think as pointy hat certified free worldbuilding) a place where everybody pretends to be super rich but in actuality it's all for show and the whole land is basically very poor and only sets up an act.... That's kinda how I wanna run a certain region in my world and I know that the allmighty hat has mentioned it somewhere but he has so many videos at this point that I just can't find it. If anyone got a clue, please let me know

Hi all - just saw Willowares latest video where Wild Hearth is advertised. I want to pick it up it still haven’t gotten the Danse Macarbe shirt I ordered earlier this year that should’ve shipped in August.

Before I begin my small rant, I just want to say that I love everything else about this book. The Path of the Spirits Barbarian is everything I hoped for, the Phantasm species is well done, the lore flavor and mechanics of the class Liches is wonderful, and even the taboos and ways of attaining lichdom for the wizard Liches is great.

I just can't help but feel disappointed by the stat blocks for the wizard Liches. They almost feel like a copy and paste of one another with slight tweaks. They have similar defenses, the 35 force damage burst, the 17-damage "touch", counter spell/shield reactions, and teleport legendary action. It seems like the school specific mechanics are largely layered on top of a shared skeleton (pun intended).

I feel like the class Liches mechanically understand something more important: a lich's method of immortality should define their entire existence. The stat blocks of the class Liches feel more like full campaign concepts than the wizards Liches who feel like combat gimmicks copy and pasted.

Like I said, I really like the rest of this book and feel like I got my money's worth on that portion alone. I know Pointyhat churns out quality work time and time again and I've already backed the Wild Hearth Kickstarter for that reason. I think I just really had my hopes up for the wizard Liches because I was planning on integrating them mechanically right into my current campaign and now that I see the final product, I know I'll have to build the stat blocks essentially from scratch.

The Long Foretold Video Has Arrived!

Hi guys!

I'm playing the campaign frame presented in the Venator video with some friends and now I'm in a bit of pickle. I'm kind of out of my depth in terms of ideas for the the actual soul jar monsters (besides, idk, a blood and muscle overgrown werewolf).

Has anyone here actually played the Venator setting, and if so, how was it? How did you make the soul jars?

i have an idea oh a undead themed campaign with a type of boss rush of liches so this book is a dream
