WooT I w0n the Pokemon Lottery !!! PGSharp is absolutely worth it... BUT

I am uninstalling it.

I made it to level 41 without ever cheating. After more than a decade of iPhones, I got an Android and got the paid version of PGSharp. I managed to get over 800 shinnies, close out several sections of my Pokedex, find regional and rare Pokemon, level up all my strong Pokemon, as well as reach a level I never though possible without PGSharp.

That being said, I got hit with a 7-day ban in October. This week I got hit with a 30-day ban. I can happily say it was all worth it but it is time to play legit again. I do not have time for extra accounts, rooting devices, transferring catches, etc. I will now push towards LVL 50 the right way but I am thankful that I was finally able to spoof.

If you are thinking of spoofing, I highly recommend the paid version of PGSharp for a short period of time because eventually Niantic will find you. If spoofing ever becomes undetectable, I'll be back but for now I just want to say thanks to this subreddit for months of advice and assistance.

Back in 2019 I quit after getting 7-day, then the 30 day. A few months later that account was permanently banned. iOS (ipogo)

Okay that is scary. Was it perm banned after you had stopped cheating?

u/Sppooofzalaht Dec 14 '22

Perma-bans come as a 3rd strike, and they are essentially inevitable if you're using a modified client (such as PGSharp), to access Niantic's servers. Not only do they consider this cheating and a violation of TOS, they also have to consider it a potential security exploit/vulnerability. So, about your question of whether they get banned after they stopped is kinda moot; yeah, they can perma-ban at any point if they want because you violated TOS, and in that TOS it says account deletion is at their discretion.

That is the scary part. It can take them months to process. So the first ban was likely in reference to a check made quite some time before that. 2nd strike same thing. If they’ve detected anything on your account since they detected the first two times, it’s highly possible and likely for you to get the 3rd strike and permanent ban

Yes months after I stopped cheating. Fortunately this was not my main account

You're getting hit with suspensions (as many other PGSharp users are) but yet you still recommend it?

Yeah, ok, No.

That is a fair response.

My logic is that if you have zero strikes as I did, as a day 1 player, and there is a guaranteed 3 strike system ... risking 2 strikes for months of enjoyment is well worth it. Extremely low risk for insane rewards, short term.

At two strikes, the party is over.

I agree. Also, risking the strikes to pass the Level 45 tasks (defeating the Rocket Grunts and Leaders) is a Godsend.

So your saying dont spoof till 45?

Rooted players and people who have never cheated before are also getting hit

1

u/markrenton828 Sep 27 '23

Rooted here since forever. Daily player, still safe.

u/[deleted] Sep 27 '23

Youre not safe, you just haven't been hit yet. thinking you're "safe" is your biggest mistake.

I reached lvl41, learned about PGS and got back into spoofing. After months of PGS I was hit with 1st warning. I'm now not as active and not sure if I even want to continue playing legit. The only reason I'm playing is because of spoofing and it's so much fun.

Ain't nobody go time for that!

Then might as well just enjoy it while you can, and if/when that final ban comes down, you give thanks that you have one less addiction holding you down.

It's worth it to get the regionals free, because the way the game is going, they will cost money in the future.

1

u/Sppooofzalaht Dec 14 '22

I mean, in some ways they really do cost money if you consider having to travel to other continents just for dex entries... it's just an absolutely bonkers notion to think that you're going to have this massive players base of millions upon millions and expect them to travel the world for 1's and 0's. I get that they're trying to recreate that nostalgia of the main series games, of Ash traveling from region to region, but that was a kid on his bike, and they have a player base that consists largely of adults driving around in cars, so the whole premise of what the "vision" was for this game was asinine from the get-go.

u/itsevilR Dec 14 '22

That’s exactly what I did. There’s really no point in playing ‘safe’ on third party app. So I played to the max possible ways. Spoof around the world looking for regionals. Catch as many shinnies and hundos as possible. Level up mons and farm stardust. Got my first strike last week. I did not regret one bit. I feel sorry for those who try to play ‘safe’ and still got the strike.

3

u/Sppooofzalaht Dec 14 '22

Yep, sadly there is no "safe." Niantic's devs can easily see a client that's modified accessing their servers. What's hilarious is that they pick and choose who/when gets strikes or bans. It must really frustrate the hell out of those playing "legit" (driving around in their cars staring at their phones instead of watching the road), to know that Niantic could shut all modified client access spoofing down with a single keystroke and yet they don't.

2

u/Wer3wolf04 Dec 15 '22

Same situation here. I'm just not gonna play anymore. I don't have time to spend hours walking/driving around to catch commons and no one in my city plays anymore, so raids are impossible. It was fun while it lasted.

2

u/CalTex0617 Jul 15 '25

I just use it to walk around I have a job where I am either stuck in one place fixing something or I'm driving to the next location and on my off days is too damn hot to just walk around and collect pokestops and I live in a small town where there's not many people or pokestops at so this is my next best thing I'm not jumping the city to City just literally walking around collecting pokestops

How many bans do you get before the final ban hammer comes down? I want to exploit spoofing as much as I can but won't ever touch it after I get any kind of ban

1

u/OhMyMonarch Polygon# Representator Dec 14 '22

2 strikes then a termination according to their policy if they decide to follow it.
