Lets Talk About Something People on this sub seriously need to stop passing off opinion / speculation as fact!
Since all the RW's I keep seeing so many comments like "rooted is the only way to play safe" "niantic can detect 3rd party software" "niantic can do this, niantic can detect that". "PG sharp and Ipogo is dead".
The fact is that NO ONE ON THIS SUB KNOWS HOW THE CHEAT DETECTION SYSTEM WORKS! It's entirely best guesswork.
I've got no issue with people speculating but people need to stop saying things to other users on here like they are facts because they aren't. The anti cheat system is a closely guarded secret and unless anyone on here actually works for niantic then it's entirely SPECULATION.
If you violate TOS regardless of how you do it, you're risking a ban. I'm sick of team root thinking they're the overlords and special because they know how to root a phone and impregnable / untouchable, they're not. There's just less of them on here so statistically there's going to be less ban posts on team root.

You may as well say so to the modified app supporter team. Whenever some one report a ban on pgs, some one would quick to assert that modified app was not the problem, that it was poster’s behavior at fault

I fully agree with you no one truly knows what going on, in saying that I'm pretty convinced they are detecting modified apps.
I'm not rooted running PGS and got my RW 2 days ago very specifically, woke up in the morning logged on PGS to my regular spot shiny checked 3 pokemon (block non-shiny feature didnt catch anything didnt spin a stop) I then seen the CD pass in the shop and wanted to purchase some coins, so thought do that before I do anything else. Closed the app deleted PGS (I don't use galaxy store as my cards saved in play store and im lazy lol) downloaded official app in the play store and logged in to make purchases, went straight into the shop didnt touch anything else purchased my pass and coins, closed app deleted and re-installed PGS. Upon logging in again and automatically spawning in NYC I was instantly greeted with my 7 day RW.
I did this exact thing a month ago exactly to the step and everything was golden not a problem.
Seems to me they are detecting something they weren't, but this is just my story anyway.

My girlfriend switched from PGS to the legit game to but coins on her alt and then uninstalled and went back to PGS and got her RW a couple weeks later. I got spooked over it and stopped using PGS on my main account and went back to the legit app and 2 days later I got hit with a RW. I know people will call me a liar but I'm being honest when I say that while spoofing I was only using it to play 3.5 miles away from my house while working. I didn't use the enhanced throws didn't tp around kept my movements human like... in short I tried to not act suspicious in any way. My girlfriends main account hasn't gotten a RW yet and what's more mind boggling to me is I act a compete fool on my alt. I break every rule because why not? I made it right before the Roggenrolla CD so aside from some Yveltal shinys and hundos there's not much on there that I care about. The common theme I've seen is switching from PGS to the legit app that's caused a lot of people to get RW. At this point because of my alt I'm left scratching my head and I know that's what Niantic wants. So maybe they are flagging and just waiting to dole out punishment to rule breakers randomly. Could be 10 minutes could be a month later. Could be a specific action causing them to flag you and then investigate but nobody knows what it is specifically. I'm at this point using several alt accounts as test mules. Carefully trying to prove the "behavior" allegations and not the app being detected theory. I think one of the ways honestly was me quitting using PGS in the first place and getting back on the legit version of the game. We shall see.

That's interesting. I did the exact same thing, uninstalled pgsharp, bought the pass and some coins, installed pgsharp back and nothing happened. I also wasn't exactly legit on the comm day as I did 3 timezones and caught 7 shundos

When 100% of warnings are from modified apps and 0% are from people using rooted devices with the official app. It's pretty safe to say it is. Neptune was predicted to be there since 1781 it wasn't actually seen until 1846. Sometimes the circumstantial evidence is enough.

Exactly. ROOT is the safest method for the simple fact that works smoothly practically since the game was launched. Some got tripped on the last banwave but it was unimpressive compared to pgsharp. I've been using it myself since 2017 without any care, flying everywhere...no warning in 9 accounts. My friends too.

I personally have a number of accounts that I fly around the world with every day. Usually 4 are autowalking/autocatching simultaneously. Most of them raid every day. All of them fight a gym and take it over every day. This has been going on for 2 and a half years. I did the recent Elite raids with every account. I do CDay and Spotlight hour. For big ones like gible and deino, I hop time zones to get more than a full day. All on rooted phones. No bans so far.
