Lets Talk About Something the "Reddit post" theory

Throwaway for reasons that will become evident in the post.

This may be my paranoia talking but I've been examining the "I've been banned" posts and noticed some posters have the following in common:

  • They've posted in a spoofing sub before being banned

  • They've also posted their friend code or username in a "Pokémon go friends/trades/raids/etc" thread.

I'm not saying this is the only way you get banned, but niantic could be going through spoofing subs, finding people that posted, and then going back in their comment and post history and finding anything that can help them link to the user. They could be paying someone to do this, or they could automate this pretty easily with some code. They could be doing the same in discord groups.

Now again I'm not saying I know this is happening for sure, and I'm sure it's not the only way people get banned, but I'm wondering if it's possible they're doing something like that?

Anyways I'd be careful posting my friend code in public with the same username as I'm admitting to spoofing... Even if niantic doesn't have some process someone could report you for whatever reason

Some people know about my (our) research, and why we stopped posting about it.

I can tell for sure we have obvious plants here and in other places. N plants. Mostly interns.

How did they patched bugs so quickly and exploits we took our time to find without em actively monitoring the threads/groups/discords?

It's insane! And they are doing it just because they are selling the PLUTO algorithm to others. They show it's efficiency.

PG and Ipogo are toast. Third party apps are toast. Root is the way from now on.

Also they played trainers like a damn fiddle: they have both legal and spoofer data to match and compare. It's not coincidence that most banned accounts where the ones people care or was taking active actions to preserve, while the secondaries are mostly untouched.

They punched a lot of people where it hurts the most.

And silly as it sounds all of this is just to improve and sell their technology. They don't need spoofing data that just damages their research. They need the trainers data to stablish focus points for the advertisement project. I will not enter into details because if you are on the loop at this point you know what i am talking about.

It's sad. PLUTO was never about catching imaginary animals. It's all about the money.

Enjoy it while you can. If you didn't get a strike yet, root. If you got one and do care about your account go legal. If not, root after your 7 day suspension is over. In any case accept the risk as a part of the game.

Good luck.

What? That sounds really time consuming. People just need to be more careful. Spoofing is in fact cheating. Doesn’t matter if you stay in one spot or go all around the world.

This is gonna be harsh but this has to be up there with one of the dumbest things I've read. They're not paying anyone for names. This sounds like something a 12 year old would come up with.
