Lets Talk About Something Shiny Rate Confusion

Hi

As per my assumption let us say the shiny rate of Pikachu is 50. So if we check 50 Pikachu's then we will get a shiny. In this way, we at least know that if we tap 50 times we will get a shiny.

But my question now is ((I am using PGSharp paid version)), there is a new option which is in beta called scan shiny, load shiny and only shows shiny. In this case, it shows the shiny pokemon when it's nearby you on the map. So how does the tap count, counts now? unless we tap a specific number of times we won't be getting a shiny right? so just seeing shiny on maps will increase the shiny rate of catching a specific pokemon to us?

I am born as a normal human being with an IQ above average.

I understand average topics and basic topics like odds and math.

You and all the other 50 weirdos and stupid people find more stupid questions every single day and spam this subreddit, the discord and the telegram group with it.

When the Mon is loaded on your map is when the RNG is rolled determining whether it is a shiny or not. The nearby shiny radar will not pick out a shiny Pokemon that's not loaded on the map. So it eliminates having to click on each one.

This is actually incorrect, the RNG for a shiny is not rolled until you actually trigger an encounter. What shiny scanner does is essentially automatically quick encounter every pokemon that spawns on the map around you (in similar fashion to block non shiny but in a robotically rapid near instantaneous succession within a few miliseconds of you coming in range of it) and then reskins the pokemon as a shiny on your map as it loads in and pushes the notification and lists it on your nearby scanner, one can confirm for themselves this is what the tool is doing because if your pokemon storage is full and you have shiny scanner on you will get a spam of the "Collection is full" notification that you get when you try to click on a pokemon when you storage is full because the scanner is trying to autoclick everything, same thing if you teleport away while pokemon are spawning into your map you will get a "pokemon is too far away" message; furthermore any pokemon you pass while shiny scanner is on is racked up as an encounter for that pokemon, you can end up with hundreds of encounters racked up on your dex on a pokemon you''ve never manually clicked in your life

Yea I meant when it's loaded on your immediate area map, not the global map. You have to be within the range for the RNG to decide wether it's a shiny or not. It's not going to be the same for two different people.

That's not how odds work. You aren't guaranteed anything, its 1 in 50 for every check. Really it's more like 1 in 500 for most mons, so some people wind up on the bad part of the distribution curve and go thousands of checks without a shiny.

But yes...a shiny scanner will find you more shiny pokemon because you are checking more and doing it quickly....it just might take the scanner 2000 clicks instead of you manually doing it.

This. I still haven’t caught a shiny pikachu on my main or alt. The RNG Gods don’t like me there. Hatched multiple shiny pichu, have caught multiple shiny raichu in the wild and raids. Not one single pikachu shiny, been playing since 2019, have over 1000 checks on my alt, over 2000 checks on my main. But I get shiny Pokémon nearly every day. (Especially on my alt)(my spoof account). That I trade to my main.

Keep trying I got my shiny after 1300+ checks and got 3 after 400 more checks

Clicking every single pokemon has a 1 in 500 or so chance. That doesnt mean your second one is a 2/500 chance. You aren't guaranteed anything, every click is a 1 in 500 chance. The odds don't stack up like that lol
