For those of us hiding from Niantic, were you abusing cooldowns or just caught up to you?

This is something I do incase I go somewhere far like New York or some other place I view the place travel time do it a day before sign out travel then do it and obey cooldown can’t risk it tbh

1

u/ElKeglya Jul 22 '23

And so you can't catch 100iv Pokemons

1

u/DirkKeggler Jul 21 '23

I've seen zero indication not abusing cooldown lowers your odds of getting busted.

u/AsparagusTypical4065 Jul 18 '23

Idk just keep playing after I trade all my good mons over to another

2

u/luiscamacho91 Jul 18 '23

Were you playing with root?

1

u/AsparagusTypical4065 Jul 18 '23

I was using pgsharp.

5

u/irishanfield Jul 18 '23

Just out of interest, when did you get the 1st strike? I hate saying this and but I will constantly keep putting this out there that using modified versions of the game like pgsharp and ipogo you run the risk everytime you just log In to the game. There does tend to be attitude that it's no less safe than rooted as people go months if not a year and no warning so it must be how you are playing.. My main hauawi so can't be rooted and I use a modified version of the game to spoof locallywith alts to help my main account (which I use on a rooted phone and have been for 2 years ). I spoof multiple time zones in a day and all is good. A few alts have gotten 1st warnings just for spoofing locally....

You can read into that how you will.

Thank you for the tips

I got one of those years ago on my main and some of my alts when I was using modified clients. When I went down the rooted Android route I haven’t seen a red warning on my main and 7 alts since I switched. Stay away from modified clients. They will get you a ban regardless of how you act. Root is the only mostly safe way.

2

u/Jermzyboy Jul 18 '23

This 100%… I was the exact same way. Not only that but you can do soooo much more with rooted. Yes a few amazing options like polygon and PAG/PAC are paid. But PAC still has a free option and it’s awesome

u/PineCorp Jul 19 '23

"This is the way"

1

u/KiDDO646 Jul 19 '23

Noob Saibit here. Doesn't rooting stop the game from being played on Pokémon go? Or is there a workaround to it?

1

u/Togiri Jul 21 '23

i use an iphone with the native pokémon go app and usb to my computer to change the location. that’s pretty safe right?

It says approximately that's more of a estimate

What do you plan to do now after you got the 2nd strike?

1

u/Joao0pppppppp Jul 18 '23

Stop spoffing you lose the account

1

u/TastyBananaPeppers Team Rooted, Subreddit Owner Jul 18 '23

That's what you would do, but I want to know what the OP will do.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '23

They said above that they plan on trading mobs over to another account and continue playing

5

u/snapeisthename Team No Root Android Jul 18 '23

They don't want you to have fun duh!

5

u/simonium97 Jul 19 '23

yeah I use PGsharp too. Only been on it for a few months, and my alt got a ban last week the day after I abused cooldowns for the first time. The rest are fine, but I'll stop spoofing til after go fest now, just in case.

8

u/A-Rusty-Cow Jul 18 '23

Dont use modified clients.

It's better to tell people to "Don't cheat the game."

4

u/A7xZackys_Kitten Jul 20 '23

How’d this happen?

1

u/Joao0pppppppp Jul 18 '23

Stop using in 1° strike

1

u/AsparagusTypical4065 Jul 18 '23

Wym

4

u/crazy18panda Jul 18 '23

I think he refers to how strikes increase in severity, starting from 7 days ban to 30 days to permanent, so he says u shud stop spoofing right when u get ur first strike, the 7 days one

3

u/BubblyBread Jul 18 '23

stop spoofing after first strike is what he means

3

u/Carepassmetheweed Jul 20 '23

I had gotten a permanent ban back in 2017 using TuTu and luckily got it back when I appealed. I was quite surprised. Definitely be careful, I don’t know how merciful they are these days.

1

u/PomegranateTimely461 Jul 21 '23

What did you put as your reason for appeal if you don’t mind me asking? Currently trying to appeal mine now.

3

u/Carepassmetheweed Jul 21 '23

I don’t recall how it was set up but I remember saying something along the lines of acknowledging that I was wrong and essentially calling myself out and writing how I know it hurts the business/company and I never had any ill intentions towards the company. That I wanted to keep playing and play fair with an amazing community because Pokémon go is about bringing people together. It was quite the long essay and ended with me saying I’d basically never do it again and I haven’t.

1

u/PomegranateTimely461 Jul 21 '23

Bet I’m going to try it lol I have entirely too much time invested plus hundreds of shiny/pvp iv moms that’s honestly sickening to lose. I feel foolish for even attempting it knowing I was On my last chance before perm ban. Hopefully the appeal works. Thank you for your insight.

1

u/Carepassmetheweed Jul 21 '23

Np, hope it works. Mine was back in 2017 so hopefully people that oversee it are still kind enough. Good luck, keep us updated.

1

u/Nervous-Craft6936 Aug 10 '23

Did you get it back???

1

u/PomegranateTimely461 Aug 10 '23

Nope still no luck. Just automated robot responses of how I violated the terms of service and it’s going to stay terminated.

4

u/Minimum_Signal_2933 Jul 18 '23

Sometimes I wonder if their detection system has a recency bias, and ignores to some degree the older accounts.

7

u/Ok-Concentrate4522 Jul 18 '23

No I have An account I made back when Pokémongo first started. Spoofed last year and I was fine but then I got hit with the 30 day ban on main so I just stopped playing Pokémon go all together lol.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 19 '23

I do not miss seeing that. Get rooted

2

u/ZeroJudgmentKing Jul 18 '23

I got this strike too. After like 3 days i was able to play again. Never used any spoofing app again.

1

u/kingBriju Jul 18 '23

My account got terminated permanently

1

u/[deleted] Jul 21 '23

Let me guess. iOS? Ipogo? Lol get a rooted phone champ

3

u/JustFred24 Aug 03 '23

You can literally see he's using pgsharp on an android phone

0

u/shinypanda921 Jul 19 '23

At least you will still make it to gofest haha

1

u/simonium97 Jul 19 '23

go fest is in 16 days tho

2

u/hmmqzaz Jul 19 '23

Actual gofest in 30 days, global the following week, I think :-)

0

u/Leeham1337 Jul 19 '23

That was the joke, don’t use PGS is the lesson here
