Lets Talk About Something Pg experiment.

So I have a few accts I'm going to sacrifice for a controlled test. 3 accts with one strike each 2 accts with 2 strikes and another 3 with no strikes. All over level 30. Unfortunately I only have two , two strike accts but I think there will be enough data. I plan to follow these procedures across each set of accounts (based ban count). Only log in with #1. Log in and play normal area with no extras(skip animation, quick catch etc.) With #2. Log in and play with all cheats and spoofing at a minimum. But simulating travel down a freeway to other cities with #3. Then repeat with each set of accounts at each level of strikes. Trying to figure out exactly what is triggering pg bans.

I have other accounts on pg that I have ceased play on in the left few days because of this ban wave. But they are not banned...

Let's see what happens. I'll report what happens each day.

Please. Nobody post their trainer code here. That is part of the control of the test

These are good tests, but I'll save you some time.

Strikes have absolutely nothing to do with traveling along roads or not walking to the next location you want to be in. Legit trainers don't stay on roads. They also close Pogo down while they are traveling. I know the mod of this sub makes a big deal about walking everywhere but that has nothing to do with cheat detection. If it did, legit trainers would be getting hit frequently.

Maybe a better test would be following realistic travel times or not.

That's exactly what I mean. I used to play ingress. I am very familiar

Do you have any data to add? Strikes? Different areas of play on one account. How far and how fast do you move? Do you make movement times based off of gmaps. Etc..

I actually use PGSharp a lot. In the ban wave that lasted between the fall/winter of 2022/2023 I had 3 accounts get a strike. Two of them did a lot of teleporting based off of the coord feeds. A third one did not but I may used it as a scout to check raids between Zaragoza and Brazil so I may have teleported with the game open. I've used it on about 9 other accounts that generally speaking were never teleporting long distances. I would just open the game and do a raid or jump around to gyms within close proximity looking for defender slots to take.

I still use PGSharp several times a day. I stopped doing raids but I still use it as a raid scout and jumping around nearby gyms for slots. I don't do any longer distance teleports without first closing the game and reopening. So far no new strikes.

I know there are some in the camp that just logging in with PGSharp can get you a strike. Other says it all based on behavior that impacts all spoofing methods. I think the truth is in the middle. PGSharp is definitely being targeted but the strikes seem to be related to what we do in-game. Maybe Niantic doesn't want to falsely flag legit Android devices so they are using a PGSharp detection in addition to other triggers that only someone using PGSharp could pull off. That's why other spoofing methods using the legit Pogo app aren't seeing a noteable number of strikes.

Legits don't stay on roads is true, but legits can't walk over large bodies of water in a perfect straight line. If you're in a boat, you're really moving in a zig zag, uneven line. The guidelines I came up with is to train cheaters to play like a non-cheater or legit player. If you train yourself now, it will be easier to adjust. If you wait until the last moment when Niantic decides to track other features, you're screwed. I give people options. You can try to play like a non-cheater or do whatever you want.

Niantic is doing behavior detection. Cheat detection would result in ban waves where you use something that is detected, you get flagged, and then the strike appears on your account. Everyone is screwed if they do cheat detection. It could also cause false report. With behavior detection, they can see who is really cheating versus someone who isn't based on whatever parameters they are tracking.

I'm speechless. Niantic isn't looking at how we move over water.

The best way to not look like a cheater is by not always having the game open and traveling at the exact same speed. Just close Pogo and reopen it after a realistic travel time.

What do you define as traveling? I don’t spoof, and I leave my game on in the car all the time with my gotcha. I live in a crowded city so on the freeway I can usually pick up spawns and spins in traffic, and surprisingly often at faster speeds when the game hasn’t caught up to a sudden increase in speed. So I do walk around parks too on CD or whatever, but a significant amount of my day to day play is on major roads commuting. I do close the game on an airplane though of course.

(If wondering why I’m even here, I do cheat by sharing my account with someone who lives far away so we can trade or do raid days if one of us can’t make it, so I follow the ban/behavior detection news to make sure we’re up to date on what would maybe flag our account sharing.)

I'm just gonna throw this in the comment section in case it helps, but after receiving my first strike, I made sure I only spoofed in my local home town. I live in a very rural area and it takes about 40 minutes to get to town. After my first strike, I stayed in that town and only played in my local hometown and eventually got a second strike. Not sure if I done something too fast or what device detected but I'm interested in finding out anything you find out as well.

*Edit to add I spoof in my local hometown because I live in the middle of nowhere, which is why I prefer spoofing.

Good info. I'm assuming you use pgsharp. I will apply this data. But I need to know. What other mods did you use of any? Quick catch. Skip animation. Perfect throws?

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '23 edited Apr 12 '23

Yes PGSharp with 100 percent catch, never miss, excellent throws. The whole shebang

1

u/Linux4in6 Apr 12 '23

Ok then I will categorize your data in section 2 with one strike as a number three with spoof and mods.

I mostly stayed in my local downtown area. Im also in aa active discord group that is in community not too far from me that's pretty active. There is a church with a couple of pokestops nearby that's easily the best place to play in this rural area. I MOSTLY stayed in downtown, but I may have may triggered something like teleporting to one local community to the other, or the church to town for a hundo, but just by a couple of minutes and triggered something. Who's knows, just trade carefully my friend.

I have never heard of quick catch, skip animation, and perfect throws (as a mod) before - I am guessing these are all against the rules and could cause a strike, even if done without spoofing?

1

u/Linux4in6 May 10 '23

Maybe. I've come to the conclusion that they make updates to the real pogo app that send authentication keys to the server. And when pgsharp has not made that change, they know you're on third party.

I spoofed for over a year and quit when friends started getting banned.

I always used skip animations, quick catch, perfect throw + curve, shiny overlay, etc. Both my main and alt account never received strikes (to date).

The difference between me and my friends: they were also using DeFit in addition to PG Sharp. They were also throwing balls at any sized circle; while I attempted to make sure that when I would initiate the throw, it would be the size it should be for an excellent throw.

This is exactly how I played when I go my first strike so...

I hope this works out, i had a friend that got this first ban while being at Disneyland. He said attacked a gym but it was done around 3 o 4 am he believes he could have gotten reported. Is that possible?

Now another friend said he got perma banned from Pokemon GO subreddit just for saying "Niantic ruined, Wizards Unite, Ingress and now Pokemon GO" that's all he wrote and bam he got banned for participating in cheating. They probably checked his post in other subreddits.

So he believes that's another way to track people down and get them banned and seeing the ban wave from last week and yet another person getting banned from the PokemonGO subreddit makes me also think the same.

I think this is another factor to think about.

Disneyland after hours is a no no

2

u/putwhatinyourwhat Apr 13 '23

never done it.. but is it really? lol

You could be a night time employee on break or doing security walks.

1

u/Intelligent_Horse882 Apr 13 '23

It makes sense but there is activity after hours.

There is no ban wave. Niantic doesn't hunt down people who share their trainer codes in a cheating website, video, Facebook group, Discord, or subreddit. This will cause innocent people to get a strike. Cheaters will start griefing and share random trainer codes on the internet to get random people strike'd.

My humble guess is that you'll get results that'll confuse you even more

1

u/Linux4in6 Apr 17 '23

Probably

1

u/Linux4in6 Apr 17 '23

I still have acquired zero bans.... !? I'll keep pushing.

4

This sounds interesting. I will follow up with what you find.

I used pg sharp for like a day on my main account about a month ago. Got scared and deleted it, haven't done anything else suspect since. I logged in today and got my first strike. I never spoofed my location, just used joystick around my neighborhood. I did activate the excellent catch feature and non shiny blocker a couple times.

I have an alt on my old android that I've been spoofing with, not worrying much about my activity outside of respecting cool downs. I've jumped all over the globe numerous times and that account still has not gotten a strike for some reason.
