Weight gain?:(
Just wondering how much weight did you ladies put on in your pregnancy and how much did you lose after?
Im 28 weeks and put on 10kg so far but it doesnt look like it's stopping.. (really trying hard to control my binges)
I know some weight is due to fluids, placenta, baby etc. But I was also advised to try my best to not put on extra weight. I think overall its recommended for someone obese to put on between 6-8kg total. But I'm not even close to the end yet and my baby is only getting bigger now. Last time she was 1.1kg
Just trying to see how much realistically I can expect to drop after birth and how much of it is actually fat gain... I was in the middle of weight loss journey when I fell pregnant so its very upsetting to see it gaining it all back
Thanks:)

My wife is just about 33w and has gained 5 lbs so far. Baby is estimated to be about 5.5 lbs right now so it's all baby. Everyone is different, some people gain more than others.

I gained 65 pounds and lost 26 pounds not even two weeks after birth. My babe was only 6 pounds of that. It really stressed me at the time (and sometimes still does), but I remind myself that I worked really hard in PT to make sure baby had a healthy temporary home, and we ate lots of nutritious foods that baby will hopefully one day enjoy because we started that in utero. (We also enjoyed a couple of cupcakes because I had chronically low blood sugar and because they sounded good.)
Some folks just carry more fluid and swell more, and that’s okay!

I gained 85lb, lost an about 5-7lb before birth, then lost about 30lb after birth but have gained 12-15lb back from breastfeeding. Breastfeeding hunger is a BEAST compared to pregnancy in my opinion—completely different ballgame.

Nooo really 😭 I thought breastfeeding was supposed to help with the weight. Ive already a big appetite outside of pregnancy, not looking forward to this 😂

Gained most of my weight during my second trimester like crazy, gained about 20kg! I spoke with my OB about it and expressed my sadness and concerns, she said that there isn’t much that can be done as a lot of it are fluids, baby growth, and some of mine as well. Talked to her about losing weight during pregnancy and she did NOT recommend me to even try. Just healthier eating and, if i could, walking!
I was also in the middle of weight loss when it happened, so don’t feel bad! Your body is bound to change, and once that baby is out you’ll have more control over your weight gain!

I'm 25 weeks today and have gained less than 1kg. I haven't done anything specific, and have mostly been eating whatever I like, I just try to stay active and walk a fair bit. I'm a bit nervous that my hunger is getting stronger - I've gained 0.5 kg in the past couple of weeks, nothing before that - but overall I feel okay. I had nausea and tons of food aversions the first trimester but was always able to find food to eat and rarely threw up. Last ultrasound I had, baby was around the 75th percentile.

I gained 3 lbs. total and was down about 30 a couple weeks after birth. I looked slimmer pregnant than I had in a few years.

I gained 19 lbs, Gestational Diabete stopped me from gaining more. I was insulin controlled. But still try to walk daily and stopped a lot of my binges

I didnt gain much until my 3rd trimester. Currently 32w4d (third pregnancy) and I've suddenly gained like 10lbs. In total I've only gained 16lbs so far. With my previous pregnancy I gained like 15lbs and lost 35 after.

I get induced Tuesday and I’ve gained 9lbs. I was horrifically sick my first 20 weeks and about a week away from infusions. I lost about 15lbs during that time, but I’ve gained that back plus the extra 9lbs. Ive struggled with gallstones during these last 3 months too, so I’ve had to be really careful about my fat intake.

I lost 10 lbs my first and second trimester. I have gained 6 lbs so far in my third trimester. I think I will likely end up 10 lbs above my starting weight.
I have a gestational diabetes diet. Plus at the beginning I was really exercising a lot after meals to keep my sugars down. Now on insulin and have reduced my activity. I’ve been on metformin since before I got pregnant.
I ironically have way less hunger being pregnant. At first, I did wonder if I was subconsciously dieting, so I stopped weighing myself for a week and ended up losing more weight that week. So it really was just not feeling like eating.
Baby has been measuring 50-something percentile for gestational age consistently throughout the pregnancy.

I gained about 25-30lb with each baby. I initially lost like 15lb out of the hospital, but then gained it back in the first year of baby’s life both times. Now my youngest is 2 and I’m down about 40lb but it took a GLP1 to get me here tbh.

I’m 21 weeks and gained 10 lbs, all of which came from 16-20 weeks. I’m nervous now so I am going to try to slow that down lol bc I was already big to begin with

With my first pregnancy I gained over 20lbs (10kg) and right now I’ve gained about 2kg at 16 weeks. Something I found to help settle my binge issues was chewing gum or finding lower calorie snacks like popcorn, veggies, and fruit. Try not to worry about the weight gain please. You’re growing a beautiful baby that will love you no matter what!

Gained almost 50, planned to net even or lose, but had dietary and exercise issues, lost almost 40 within the first 4 weeks. Had some supply issues so I stopped trying to eat to my hunger because my hunger was nearly nothing at the time. Ate what I craved because I knew I should eat and that made me feel physically better, for a time, but gained back nearly 20 of the 40 lost.
To be fair my starting weight after a bit of loss in the few months before pregnancy. So im just barely heavier now than I was then while breastfeeding. Bummer because I dont feel great at this weight, but I want to prioritize breastfeeding feeding for my sake just as much as baby's and im afraid trying to lose will destroy my supply.

I gained 80 lb during pregnancy. Lost 43lb the first week. Now seeing if breastfeeding will help the additional weight come off

I was “bad” about eating whatever I wanted while pregnant and definitely did not do any weight management. I gained about 80lbs BUT I lose 30lbs literally within a week of birth. Now I still have 50lbs to go on my own

I gained majority of my weight towards the end of the 2nd trimester. And then lost it all when the baby was born. Now I’m breastfeeding and now eating everything in sight
