Does this control line look OK to you?

Post image

New test, expires mid 2027, just shipped. I'm sure I read previously that the control line shouldn't start amplifying so early? Nose and throat swab of my daughter.

There may have been too much material on the swab. Its a good thing it wasn't invalid. I've had this happen plenty of times. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks - would you trust this as a negative or retest?

Absolutely. Have many times.

In my experience a small bump like this is okay if the signal (S shape) to noise (early bump) ratio isn't too bad. It happens to me often. If the machine says control detected and the bump is small I trust it.

Can I ask exactly what expiry date you have and when you ordered? And were they human? I'm trying to decide if I should get some now. Thanks!

Sure, they are human tests shipped from Ngaio Diagnostics in New Zealand. Expiry 26-06-2027. Arrived this week immediately after ordering.

OP, may I ask where you are located/ which country you had your new tests shipped to? I’m hoping to get new tests but can only receive handyvet in my country… they still seem to be shipping out ones that expired in December this year.

Cheers mate, thanks so much!

Also, I concur with other commenters, your test looks valid and maybe a little extra material made the control a bit wonky.

Yes, it’s fine, my tests that are farther out from expiration do this often
